If the pug is male yes. I've seen a Great dane female try to "stand" for a pomeranian. Can you say doberman pugscher? Or puggerman pinscher? Doesn't sound too good. Being it's her first heat, it's not likely she would "stand" for the pug but if he was persistent she might.

I doubt it. The pug would realize it's a little too small to do that. I just really don't see that working out. Someone told me once though that they had a small breed get a big breed pregnant... but I'm skeptical. Good luck... puppies are a lot of work, my rottweiler has given birth a few times to large litters. It's hard not to bond.

Yea, you need to keep them seperated. Where there's a will, there's a way. Small dogs have been known to get up on something to bring up to the height where they can connect. The taller female will help in any way she can for the shorter male to get her. The female have to be "ready" before she will let him get near her in that way.
Seperation for the entire period of time is best.

as long as your pug is not neutered yes you should worry, even better keep them seperated! no joke a client of mines small dog (don't remember what kind) got it on with their rotti who was in heat by standing on a picnic table bench an mounting her from there... as with most guys where there is a will there is a way! they even got pics!

yes!!! as soon as her heat cycle is over, you should look into spaying her. Also, just to prevent possible problems, you might consider nutering the pug immediately

yes you do need to worry about that

I sugest that if you aren't a proffesional breeder you should get atleast one of the spayed/neutered, there are enough unwanted puppies in the world already, and there also health benefits for your dogs if you get it done
