Dogs shed all year round, they also moult spring and summer when the new coat comes through. So maybe your dog is gaining his summer coat.
If he is a short coated breed you'll have hairs all over the place, and they get stuck in fabric. If you wrap sticky tape around your hand sticky side out you can clean these off.
If he's a long coated breed you spend less time hoovering because the hairs lift off fabrics easier, but you spend up to an hour a day combing your dog.
Best thing to do is get a cheap plastic comb like you'd use on your own hair, try it on your own scalp to make sure its not scratchy, and comb him through twice a day, even if he's short coated. Finish off with a rubber mitt or a damp cloth to remove loose hairs, your dog will enjoy it and you'll have less housework.

some breeds will shed more hair than others just be the nature of their coats. grooming regularly will help, also make sure there are no medical issues going on as this can sometimes cause more hair shedding if the dog is unhealthy. there are specialist dog grooming combs on the market which is you get the one specifically aimed at your breed of dog/dogs coat type will help to reduce the mess in the house

hate to say it, but the only way is brushing everyday. In todays central heating environment dogs shed all year round. get a good stripping comb to remove dead hair at least once a day.

Dogs don't molt. They shed.

If the dogs aren't shedding normally, you should make sure they have been tested for mange or thyroid problems. Also, you might want to give them fish oil caplets. They'll make your dogs nice and shiny.
