Is there any free software for this? If so, is it reliable? If not, what is?

If you have a DVD drive ( I assume you do) just use your windows media player...works flawless. Make sure you update it to the newest version so that you have the newest drivers and codecs available.

try searching the web for Interactual Player. I am sure that you can download it on a mac computer but I am not sure about windows. I didnt have to download anything for my computer to play DVD's. I put a DVD in while connected to the internet and it asked if I wanted to download interactual player.

if you have a DVD and no SW to play DVDs , you need a codec for windows media player, there are a lot but they will cost you
windvd, powerdvd etc. or use divx its free and works perfect.

If you have a DVD player , use VLC from videolan.org: it is entirely free and it is best there is..
