First of all, Abortion is define as: the expulsion of an embryo or a fetus that is not normally able to live outside the womb. Spontaneous abortion or miscarriage may result from human imperfection or from an accident. Deliberately induced abortion simply to avoid the birth of an unwanted child is the willful taking of human life.

How should the Source of human life affect our view of this matter?

Acts 17:28: “By him [God] we have life and move and exist.”

Ps. 36:9: “With you [Jehovah God] is the source of life.”

Rom. 14:12: “Each of us will render an account for himself to God.”
Therefore, the Jehovah God view the life of a child as precious even during the very early stages of development after conception.
Ps. 139:13-16: “You [Jehovah] kept me screened off in the belly of my mother. . . . Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, and in your book all its parts were down in writing.”

Has God ever stated that a person would be called to account for injury to an unborn child?
Ex. 21:22, 23: “In case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed upon him without fail according to what the owner of the woman may lay upon him; and he must give it through the justices. But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul.” (Some translations make it appear that in this law to Israel the crucial matter was what happened to the mother, not to the fetus. The original Hebrew text, however, refers to a fatal accident to either mother or child.)

How serious is the willful taking of a human life for a reason not authorized by God?
Gen. 9:6: “Anyone shedding man’s blood, by man will his own blood be shed, for in God’s image he made man.”

1 John 3:15: “No manslayer has everlasting life remaining in him.”

Ex. 20:13: “You must not murder.”

Does a doctor’s opinion that allowing a pregnancy to go full term would be harmful to the health of the mother justify an abortion?
Medical opinions are sometimes wrong. Would it be right to kill a fellow human because that one might harm his fellowman? If at the time of childbirth a choice must be made between the life of the mother and that of the child, it is up to the individuals concerned to make that choice. However, advances in medical procedures in many lands have made this situation very rare.
If we personally are to receive that kind of love and respect, we also have to apply Bible standards in our attitude toward the members of our family. How does the Bible say that we should view the children that we produce? (Ps. 127:3; contrast Isaiah 49:15.)’

Ps. 127 reads: "Look! Sons are an inheritance from Jehovah; The fruitage of the belly is a reward."

Isaiah 49:15 reads: "Can a wife forget her suckling so that she should not pity the son of her belly? Even these women can forget, yet I myself shall not forget you."

Fact: Abortion denies someone the chance to live.

From a religious perspective, this is against God's will. Some of the most serious sins deal with how a person enters this life, and how a person leaves this life. In other words, having sex outside of the marriage covenant, and murder, are some very serious sins.

From a legal perspective, it depends on the laws of the land. Keep in mind, however, that God's laws are higher than man's laws.

Abortion should only be performed if the life of the mother is at risk, should the child be born. If the mother does not want to keep the child, it would be better for her to put the child up for adoption. Many couples want to have kids, but they can't. Wouldn't it be better for a child to be given to loving parents, than to have its life terminated prematurely because the mother didn't want it?

I met a woman once who had an abortion. She had the abortion because she had slept with a married man, and conceived. After this event her life was very traumatized. My guess is that there aren't very many women out there who are genuinely happy with their decision to get an abortion.

If you get pregnant just so you can have an abortion, how is this different from murder? If you have an abortion because you don't want to have children, then don't get pregnant. And if you get pregnant by "accident" (because you were having sex when you shouldn't have been), please raise the child responsibly or give it to an adoption agency. Abortion is not the answer.

Adolph Hitler once said: "The receptive ability of the great masses is only very limited, their understanding is small; on the other hand their forgetfulness is great. This being so, all effective propaganda should be limited to a very few points which in turn, should be used as slogans until the very last man is able to imagine what is meant by such words." Today's slogans are: "a woman's right to choose" and "freedom of choice,"
"Many people underestimate the power of language to transform harsh realities into pleasant or emotionally-neutral phenomena."8 In Nazi Germany, when people were gassed to death, "this destructive process was characterized as 'selection'." "Just as the Nazis claimed the right to select who would expire in gas chambers, today's perpetrators insist upon the right to choose who will perish in abortion chambers!
This is a perversion of the first order because it exploits the language of rights as a pretext for taking away the most fundamental right of all: the right to life. It is an arrogant, elitist assumption of the awesome power to destroy those who cannot defend themselves, an extreme manifestation of the strong victimizing the helpless. The catch words "selection" and "choice" represent a blatant sham because the individuals most drastically affected, the victims, are the very ones who are denied the right to choose. Someone else determines their fate - death by someone else's selection. This is not freedom, but the worst kind of oppression!
Even many people who are strongly opposed to abortion allow for, or seriously consider, certain exceptions, such as rape and incest. But granting one exception leads to the consideration of another, and soon the issue is perceived as complex and controversial, thus obscuring its horror.
No one can face the horror of the Nazi Holocaust and then say that a practice of this kind, while wrong, can be justified for certain exceptions. Perceiving a horror for what it is, and granting exceptions, are psychologically incompatible.

If it is painful to look at it, then we will have participated, in a small way, in the pain that an abortion is. If you find it sickening, if you are outraged, this is because abortion is truly sickening, a terrible outrage, a horror.

May God "not" have mercy on the murders or those that assist! An abortionist and those that asist, those that approve of such, have to be the very lowest of life form!

Life begins at conception. No matter how you look at it abortion is murder. If you didn't want to have a child then YOU and YOUR PARTNER should have taken the precautions necessary to avoid having an unwanted child. The fetus could have grown up to be the person that comes up for a cure for cancer, or could have done great things. How will you ever know if you decide to kill it? Taking life is not your choice, its God's choice. If for some reason you were meant not to have it then, heaven forbid, you may lose it. If you get pregnant and you don't want the baby then think of an alternative like adoption, give that child a chance to live, laugh, and learn. You never know there maybe a family that wants kids and can't have them. Maybe you can help their dream come true.

Its not fair for you to decide that you don't want the child, just remember that their are many people out there that can't have children and want to so bad. How would like to be in their position?

I think abortion is wrong. If you don't want the baby then give it up for adoption. Or take the pill, or use a rubber, or just don't do it. If you would like to see what a aborted baby looks like go to Bible Probe.com and click on abortion on the left column of the page. Did you know that a 8month pregnant women can have an abortion. They pull those babies apart to get them out. If you are thinking about an abortion, please don't.

I think that it should always be left open as a choice. What makes me mad is that I see and hear of lots of men who are against abortion. It makes me mad because they aren't the one's geting one so in my opinion they shouldn't have a say. I would never get a abortion myself but i think it should be left as a choice. Oh and one more thing, many say that you are killing babies when you have an abortion but really your just killing a sack of water because the stage in which they perform the abortion is a stage when the to be child hasn't formed it's mind. I'm sorry if i offended any1.

I used to be vehemently against abortion, however I have changed my stance on this, to a degree.

I don't believe in it as a form of birth control and feel that it is a tool that should be used sparingly, with a great deal of forethought, for very specialized reasons (rape, serious health issues) etc.

However, I do believe that each soul chooses both its life and its death. Not on a conscious level, but at a subconscious or soul level, and abortion is one form of death, at the physical incarnation level.

I also believe that the life and death of any person (soul) affects all those who learn about it, in some way.

I also believe that there is really no such thing as "death" and that our souls live eternally and we can return to a physical incarnation as many times as we feel is necessary to the evolution of our souls.

I think abortion should only be allowed in a select number of situations

1- when it's a medical necessity and needed to save the mother's life
2- when the pregnancy is due to rape
3- when the pregnancy is due to incest.

In situations where it was consentual behavior that resulted in the pregnancy, I think they should not be allowed to get an abortion.

I think abortion is murder. I do think there are times when it should be performed like when the expectant mother is a victim of incest or rape. Other than that I think she has to take responsibility for her own actions. If she really does not want the child or is unable to care for it adoption is the only moral alternative.

I do not see the problem with abortion, but just don't get out of control with it. Like you know having one everytime you pop up pregnant....if you are not ready to have a child and some thing happens then it's fine but if you are having sex with out protection then it's your own fault.
