I personally think that many graffiti artists are amazing. Their use of space and color and shapes is beautiful! They tend to be very inventive with text and image. The only down fall is the abuse and disrespect to private property or public and tax payed structures. Graffiti art can be used as a mural and is often an new and innovative way to get messages across.

Lets face it though...some of it lacks quality. My conclusion is that I love graffiti art but I find that it has yet found it's place inthe world where it can be appreciated!

Good luck in your work but be careful where you are grafitting!

I don't really think it's a matter of graffiti being good or bad since these are subjective terms. If you're asking wether or not it is right or wrong, that's a different matter. Basically if you're putting graffiti on something that you don't own, or have permission to paint, its wrong and illegal. If you do have permission, or own the property, it is fine. Although I don't know if I would call that graffiti so much as simply painting your stuff...

There was a young artist now deceased, named Jean Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) who made a name for himself in fine art....If you find his work on line in wikipedia...or at your local library etc. I'm sure you will appreciate what you do and what he did. When I was in art class I was taking printmaking and did a piece of art using the graffiti bridge in our city as the focal point...everyone who saw the bridge just saw the train tressle not the art in front of their faces....but it was ....anyone who wanted to ...could sign their names..or draw a face..etc...usually at night without being seen since it was against the law to make graffiti on public or private property.......Keep doing what you are doing.....it's a wonderful way to express yourself....so if someone stops and takes your picture making graffiti.....it will become art ....smile for the camera....lol

NO. IT IS A SENSE OF ART FROM THE SOUL OR FROM ONES CREATIVE MIND. YES GANGS MARK THEIR TERRITORY USING GRAFFITI BUT MANY PEOPLE INCLUDING GANGS CAN MAKE WORKS OF ART WITH IT. SO NO I DON'T THINK IT IS BAD.

It isn't the graffiti itself, it is the lack of respect for other people's stuff.
Maybe you think you have improved the appearance, but it isn't for you to decide how my wall will look. It is rudeness.

Graffiti always reminds me of how male dogs run around spraying things to mark it as their own. Same psychology I think.

Expressing yourself is not bad. Art is art. (But not on people's private property)
