According to the Bible we Christians believe that 666 is the number of the anti-Christ(the beast) that he will force people to wear as a mark on their hand and forhead in order to buy and sell.
Interpretations of this mark are: a barcode, a tatoo, or a computerchip.
Most plausible is the computerchip. Yesterday I saw something on the science channel. It was one of those GPS computerchips that they put into pets so that they won't get lost. But on the TV channel they put it into a human's hand between the index finger and the thumb. The chip can be used to store ID, other important information, and to track it's user via GPS. It can also be used to unlock doors by placing the back of the hand underneith a sensor below the doornob. This specific chip is not the anti-christ mark, but ones similar to this one will be.
The number of the anti-christ's name 666 will be inserted into all of the marks (computerchips). This will give him great power over peoples freedoms in the end times.
If anyone recieves this mark by choice he is cursed to hell, according to the Bible.
666 has nothing to do with a date or anything else. Many people that were due to have children on June 6, 2006 had an abortion because of their superstition and fear fueled by the stupid movie "The Omen".
People are sick, just sick to let someone slauter their newborn because they think that he or she is evil. How immoral can a society get.
June 6, 2006 is the same thing as Y2K. They both delt with not writing the full year, and so mass panic to place. If they would have wrote the date as June 6, 2006 insted of 6-06-06, then mabye people wouldent be as paranoid.
Just because June 6 is a bunch of horse hockey that doesn't mean that Christians with a right mind believe in it.
However the anti-christ is alive and well today and he will one day rule the earth. He will rise up out of europe and become leader of the world. He will be beyond popular but he really is evil, the people will love him, but he is a deciever.
If you think this is imposible, look at the power of the European Union, one day they will elect a world leader. He will be the anti-christ. But in the end, Jesus christ Himself will distroy the anti-christ. by that time it will be too late to get right with God, that is why you have now to accept Jesus as your Savior, it's a choice, if you do not choose Christ, than you have rejected God and embraced satan and h-ll as your eternal home.
It is a choice that you must make, I am not forcing you to choose God, niether is God forcing you to choose Him. But it will all be on your own head if you don't. You will have no one else to blame. You will have chosen hell over salvation through Christ Jesus.
God is waiting for your answer with open arms, because He loves you.

Why are you asking this the week after this date? Can you not see with your own eyes that it was nothing? there was a 6-6-06 in 1906, 1806, 1706, etc etc and NOTHING HAPPENED on these dates. Seriously. And The Omen coming out on 6-6-06 is just a marketing scheme for a crappy remake of a good movie.

There is nothing to the date.
The number 666 is a refernce to the mark of the beast mentioned in Revelation. It will most likely be in the form of a micro-chip.
Whoever refuses to receive it will be unable to buy or sell anything.
This means there will be a cashless society, as well as a global economy. Not all that far in the future I would guess.
This is another proof of the Bbile's validity - such a prophecy would have been impossible at the time it was written!

True or false? It's a date. There's no denying that. And it has nothing to do with the 6-6-6 spoken of in the bible. That was just a marketing thing.

It is a superstition that some people have... all the evil in teh world will rule over everyhtnig ont his date, the Armeggdon (pardon my spelling) was supposed to occur, anybody who died would go to Hell no matter what, anybody born would beocme evil/ruler of evil/Son of Devil. Andmany other beliefs that are associated with Christian theology. 666 is associated with the Devil...because something about "Six three score". Please excuse my casual speaking of the Bible, but I am not in the mood to go and get the EXACT quote. It is up to you to decide whetehr or not you want to believe these ideas, but remember this date has occurred 100, 200, and 300 years ago. And so on...

the bible speaks of 666 not, 6-6-2006. the physical 666 means nothing,such as 666 pages or $666.00, its just a number that occurs in everyday life. but spiritually it is the mark of the beast, that if you dont receive this symbol, you can't buy or sell goods. and if you do get it, you will have gave your soul to the devil. ( if i were yo u i wouldn,t get it)

Pope Sixtus ii = 666. The original man whose name is a number is Augustus "Octav"ian Caesar = 8.
Sixtus ii signed his Latin numerical name as VI II. Octavian signed his latin numerical name VIII. The similiarity became confused. When the apostle John said the beast whose name is a number he was refering to Augustus Octavian caesar. The man who was emperor when Jesus was born and the God who made sure thet Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Luke Chapter 2.

There is a possibility that he was born on that date. Who knows? Only G--. But, I feel that it is mostly in relation to Jesus' numbers. For the Devil will have twice as many soldiers and will have twice the power as he once had. Twice that of Jesus. Hence, the second coming of Jesus is necessary. It could also be the amount of years that the devil and the damn will be in "hell" or until they repent.
But, whatever it means. This is certain: MANY WILL REMEMBER WHAT WAS SAID ABOUT THIS DATE AND MANY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LAUGH ABOUT IT.

If it is to be believed even for a moment, 666 is an OMEN number but not 6.6.2006 or 6.6.06.
