both lace and silk are gorgeous as they both have the right feel
when we are lucky enough to get our hands or tongue on them
it is also all about visual so if you like how they look on you he will love how they look on you! especially if he gets a few secret glimpses during the evening
same goes for colour -pick a colour you enjoy against your skin
bows and ribbons - more so I think if this makes you feel or look a little more feminine - girly - again a bit of a visual turn on

Silk is best, lace is just too itchy! Go for black, white or a pretty pastel colour, pretty bows and ribbons are good too. Steer clear of red lace or silk, you dont wanna end up looking like a lady of the night! My fella loves pretty stuff not slutty stuff!

Cotton. Fussy is kinda pointless - we don't buy posters with cute kittens on them, do we? Silk looks great but if you have even slightly rough skin it doesn't feel nice. So don't try to bed a guitar player wearing silk. Lace can be good, but smoooooooooth, simple, well cut cotton is just deeeeeeelicious

What you're asking is look versus feel. Guys are visually stimulated, while women are touch/mentally stimulated. Lace looks sexier, but silk feels sexier. If you can find sexy looking silk, you have it nailed. Generally, though, lace is a good way to go because it both reveals and conceals enough to get your man's attention immediately.
