I know it is half way throught the new Testament-I read it in the "Living Word" or "Living Bible" when it first came out. The Bible I had was a large bendable Bible. Please only real answers.

I'm not sure where it would say this...

I would say that Satan can't take your life or your soul.

Basically, our bodies will all die (unless you're Elisha or get raptured). That is part of a system that God put in place after sin was introduced into this world.

Although our bodies die (corruptable), we all actually live forever. ALL of us live forever. It's a matter of WHERE you will live forever and that is entirely up to you.

WHERE you live for eternity is determined by your beliefs when you die.

If you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, that he lived a perfect sinless life and that he paid the price for your sin and if you have accepted his payment for your debt, then you'll live in Heaven.

Otherwise, you'll live it hell.

It really is that simple.

(God is holy, We are sinful, the wages of sin are death, God loved us so much he sent his only son to pay our debt, all who believe in him shall not die). That's salvation in a nutshell.

There is the account of Job.
Job 1: 11 + 12 shows God said you can trouble him but not take his life.
He repeated matters in Job 2:6

You might be thinking of Rev. 2:10
Beware, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

It doesn't. The closest that comes to this is the following statement. However, this is speaking of fearing GOD not fearing Satan.

Luke 12:4-6
"My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him!"

The New Living Translation paraphrases it this way...
"Dear friends, don't be afraid of those who want to kill you. They can only kill the body; they cannot do any more to you. But I'll tell you whom to fear. Fear God, who has the power to kill people and then throw them into hell."

No where does it say that satan can take your life but not your soul. Listening to satan can ruin your life, but God is still the one who has power over life and death.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
