What do you mean? That is a loaded question.

Everything it says about God? Yes, in context. About salvation? Yes. Historical fact? Yes. Prophetic utterance? Yes.

Well, loaded in that there are some pretty heinous activity that the Bible records. It is historic, it really happened, do I believe it happened? Yes. Do I condone it? Of course not. So sometimes when people ask "Do you believe everything in the Bible" it has to have several caveats. Many things have to also be taken in the context of the times. Instead of building jails and housing prisoners (which has its major headaches), in the days of the Bible, they had servitude to pay off the debt of their offenses. So people then say that because I believe in the Bible, I believe slavery is OK. Well, yes. I believe in paying for your crimes, but not slavery in general. So you see where I could get in to trouble with a generic "yes".

As a Mormon, I would believe the Bible as far as it has been translated correctly. For example, there are several places where you need to study in more detail. Right now I am reading in 2 Samuel and a commentary by Cleon Skousen called "The Fourth Thousand Years" points out that sometimes there are inconsistencies. For example, Michal the first wife of David does not have any children by David because she is disgusted by him supposedly "dancing unclothed" (2 Samuel 6:16, 20) and other things that came to erode their relationship. However, David did not really dance without clothes, but he had stripped off his kingly robes and had donned a small Priesthood ephod or tunic-type garment instead, along with a simple robe related to Priesthood function (1 Chronicles 15:27). He was still covered, but you would not know that to read the verse in 2 Samuel 6:16. In addition, later on in 2 Samuel 21:8 it says Michal had 5 sons in spite of 2 Samuel 6:23 saying she had no children, and verse 8 makes it sound like she was married to Adriel, when the only two people she was married to were David, then Phaltiel, then David again. Michal raised the five children of her sister Merab, who was married to Adriel (1 Samuel 18:19). So this is one example where you cannot believe word for word what everything in the Bible says due to errors in translating. However, insofar as the Bible explains Jewish procedure in the Old Testament, and the life of mission of Jesus Christ in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, I would definitely believe in the majority of the Bible.

I'm a Christian, and I do believe everything the Bible says, but I always take it with a large grain of salt. The Bible is not perfect. It has been translated many times and is a historical document with all the inherent imperfections. Like all historical documents, to fully understand it one needs to know the customs and traditions of the people it talks about and realize just how old it is. However, that doesn't mean that the principles and even the miracles it mentions didn't happen or are not true. I still believe it is the word of God.

Yes I do if I am reading the King James Version, original. The newer versions leave out and add to. It says you are not suppose to do that. Yes it is like a history book. It has been proven that a man called Jesus walked this earth. They found part of Noah's ark on the top of a mountain and scientist have proven most of the bible already. So be ready when the rapture does happen. Look at the signs.

I do not believe every word in the bible. The bible was not written by GOD or JESUS it was written by man and then translated time and time again by different people, often by hand. This left room for more men to alter certain passages, omit things they felt to be unnecessary, add a little for good measure. I don't think the bible is a text book. I think its a "based on a true story" account of whatever actually happened. I believe we are supposed to love one another. I believe we shouldn't judge. Part of me wants to believe in the great flood. I have a hard time believing virgin birth or that a man survived inside a whale's stomach. Anyone who believes everything they read is a fool- and that includes ALL literature.

Yes, I believe Every word, in the KJV of the HOLY BIBLE, from the dotting of the " i`"s to the crossing of the "t"s in each chapter and all verses from Genesis to Revelations. However I have noticed that a great many of the new Revised Versions of the Bible have been changed so radically that some are out of context with the real true meaning of GODS Word, as it reads in the original KJV Bibles, that is why it is so important to study Gods word daily prayerfully without doubt, or argument. Gods word is to live by, and not to argue by. Then it will bless the readers, and the hearer, and doer of Gods word. aman.

I believe in the foundation of it but not every single word. Keep in mind that the Bible was written by humans and each book is the interpretation of God's word. It is somewhat of a "history" book but as with any history it is written by the winners. Thus the word - HIS STORY. Alot of things can be questioned and it contradicts itself b/c of the different views. The old and new testiment has different perspectives to live by. Somethings are metophoric so they cannot be taken in a literal sense. Example, do you believe Joana was swallowed by a whale? I have alot of discussions with others on this but no one knows the exact truth. That is where FAITH plays its part.

No, I put a lot of thought into this. It has been changed alot over history for a number of currupt reason. It also had made me think that I do not know everything that I should about what is right and wrong. I am trying to keep a good life and do what I think is moral where the bible lacks in educating me.

Christians believe not only everything the bible says but also a lot of things it never said. Like that silly Rapture business, to give just one example.

~ Def not. the bible was been manipulated by popes in the first couple of centuries in order to build and maintain power over the lay people. Also most of the stories are metaphorcal. All you need to do in order to be a good Christian is to be faithful to be a good person and be faithful to God.

Generally speaking Christians conceive of the Bible as the Word of God written down by people He directed to do so. This means that they attribute the kind of authority to the Bible that they do to God himself. Christians are often called "the people of the book" by adherents to other religions.
