Microsoft Excel only keeps a numeric value with upto 15-digits of percision, which means any number greater than 15 digits is converted to scientific notation, and the 15 most significant digits are retained.

You can, however, display a larger number by displaying the number as a "text" value, by placing a single quote before the number. This text number will not be able to be used within calculations.

You can set the cell as text from formatting. Then it takes as many digits as you like but you can not use it as number eg add another value to it.

If the number comes in the form of digitsE+digits the value of your number is there and you can use it as a number. The only problem is that if you want to see the whole number in a normal form you can only see it in the formula bar.
