(2Co 11:13) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
(2Co 11:14) And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Doesn't satan appear to be nice when he is enticing people to disobey God? Doesn't he give you logic to support why you should do things? Isn't sin appealing at times? And I can go on. The answer to all of these is yes.... Wasn't satan nice in the garden of eden? He eventually was the reason why Adam and Eve got kicked out of the garden, and he was so nice. It is not uncommon for the most evil people to appear to be the nicest.

Appearences don't tell you what is in somebody's mind, heart, or soul. Why is Satan, the embodyment of Christian evil, not only a fallen angel, but formerly the brightest and most beautiful of all God's angels? Simply to remind us of this fact.

Why would an evil person come on as evil?
It would repel.
Evil people want you to come forward, not repel you.
What works?
Being nice ....said the spider to the fly.

This answer depends on the age of the people you are talking about. Some people hold grudges, others are in puberty and they can't help it, still others are like that because they expect something from you that you cannot give to them.

Because if they appeared to be evil to start it would be harder to do evil things. IE why the saying "Wolf in sheep's clothing" and not "Wolf in wolf's clothing"

To work evil best, you need to gain the victim's trust and then betray it.

You obviously never met my ex-mother-in-law. She made Satan shake in the corner and whimper - but in front of the public or pastors or members of her church and friends, she was the sheer image of Christianity.

It's not my fault people think I'm nice just because of how I look.
