Your wedding day is one of the most important events of your life. Go formal no matter what time of the day it is. Live it up, dress to kill. and have a great time.

yes. not only is it on a saturday, at night, and a wedding, but if it wasnt formal im sure they would have told you. it is just implied that it is formal, so it is formal unless they didnt tell you otherwise. one time, my friend had a bat mitzvah during the day, and one girl assumed it was casual. she showed up in jeans and UGGs!!! it was a disaster. learn from the story. dont let that happen to you

Depends what the invite says. I would say every wedding should be semi-formal unless otherwise noted.

Probably. The invitation should indicate it. Some afternoon or evening weddings are outdoors and informal, so if you really aren't sure, ask someone who knows.

it is formal if it is planned to be formal.

If i were a guest, and the invitation did not specify formal, i would assume dressy, but not formal.
