I started trying to loose weight about 2 months ago. I am 5ft 8in, I was at 184lbs, I am now at 163lbs. I have worked my way up to an hour a day on the treadmill. When I'm on the treadmill have have sweat dripping off of me. I have cut my portion size in half and watching what I eat. I have lost 21 pounds and a dress size so far. I was seeing a differience on the scale every week but I haven't seen a differience this week. What's going on? I found out that I have thyroid disease about 5 months ago. The doctor now has it undercontrol. Maybe it's just that I have gained some muscle, I don't know. I'm not going to stop exercising and eating right cause I feel sooooooo much better now, but I want to loose about 20 - 30 more pounds. Help!!!!!!!!

Everyone reaches a plateau when dieting. It sounds as if you are doing the right thing for your body to lose weight, so I would keep that up & maybe throw a little more intensity and challenge in with it. The weight will probably not drop off like it has been for the past two months, but it will continue to come off. Trust me.

You shouldnt always go by the scale, you may be gaining weight in muscle mass, which is good, its hott to be toned... but try to look at your sizes not the scale because it can bring u down, keep up the good work though thats awesome!

for 5'8.....160 something isn't an unhealthy weight.
it sounds like you have plateaued...this happens sometimes when you are trying to lose weight. you will probably have to change your workout a bit b/c your body has gotten used to it.

i would say...just be patient you will start to lose more weight it will just take some time. keep doing what you are doing. if you are worried about it then go and speak to a personal trainer...they will probably be able to give you some usefull advice

As you get closer to your ideal weight, your menstral cycle will start wrecking havoc with your weighins. Usually you'll fall into a pattern of normal, normal, up, down. Just to don't stress over it, you need to look at the long term trends.

Up the intensity. Try some different things, like circuit machines, different types of cardio and such. One type of cardio i've heard great things about is HIIT(high intensity interval training)
