D,

(what cancer ??)

hang in there; if one thing doesn't work go for anouther.

READ READ READ - everyting about your cancer - including the medical journals. Doc have to rememeber "everything" about a "LOT" of cancers - you only care and need to study on one type so become the expert on yours.

find others on line or local with your cancer and the ".org" for your cancer - they will have specific information for your cancer and some ideas on how to treat

get someone to help; it is hard to do all on your own - get help, you can't do it alone and should not do it alone

some durgs take longer too - so don't loose hope; your mind is a potenet medicine also

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

Good luck,

Hey Dennis,

I know this is a lot to ask, but "don't worry about it".

Cancer cells have way higher metabolism than regular cells. Chemo 'targets' these cells by delivering what amounts to poison to the system in the hope that the cancer cells kill themselves faster than the chemo drug harm the rest of you. We are all basically the same, but with slight metabolic differences, s what works on one person real well may not work so great on the next person. Your oncologist doubtless gave you the most commonly successful chemo drug for your particular cancer first. If that didn't work, it's really no big deal, it's just time to move on to the next most likely candidate. And so on.

I know it sucks, trust me, but it'll work out. Just hang in there.

e-mail me if you want to, I know EXACTLY how you feel, I've been there. Cancer sucks, but every day it becomes more a manageable sucky disease than something to update your will over.

hang in there.

(buy a hat you look good in!)

Hi Dennis,

My Dad died of brain cancer this past March seven years after being diagnosed. I have other family members who had cancer, went through treatment, and are still in remission.

Please keep in mind there are different kinds of chemo medication. If the first round didn't work for you, it is very discouraging but it doesn't mean there aren't other options.

Tell us what kind of cancer you have.

Keeping happy and eating right really does work like medicine.

I'm sorry to hear that. My mother was diagnosed with Stage 2 cancer. What stage are you? I've taken care of her through and through and still am. I was pratically my mom's cheerleader because there were many times where she wanted to give up and fall into depression. THAT IS THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO. Treat your body as what it is a person. you are a person and as a person you have feelings DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR BODY. The mind is a very powerful thing. The more will to live you have the more your white blood cell count will go up and the better chemo is going to work. Let me know if you need any advice. I'm here.

I dont have cancer but my mother did, she is still going through chemo. The problem maybe that they gave you the wrongs one because everyones body reacts differently to chemo drugs.
