I had a 13 year history of psoriasis, though I was in good health otherwise. But these severe large, thick and scaly excoriated plaques on my neck, ears, trunk and limbs ruined the way I was leading my life. I would be with red, inflamed itchy skin for most part of the year and these silvery scales would seem to be erupting without any reason. To make matters worse, blisters would appear over already red and itching skin. It was living hell.

I was treated with various options but nothing seemed to be working. Some of the treatments that I underwent in this depressing period of 13 years included tar preparation, tropical steroids and anthralin. I was also given light therapy many times but everything I tried would give me temporary relief.

And soon, after a few days I would be plagued with the situation again. In one of those moments when I was completely lost I stumbled upon this website just by chance. I read it and felt that as if someone had put the story my life on this web page. I was thoroughly convinced that if ANYONE can cure me of condition, it would be you.

And was I right, or what. I started recovering within 3 days of starting this treatment. Something that had become a painful part of me for 13 years was actually getting healed! My ears are healed and my neck is smooth again!. I am a month into the treatment and I have never felt better in my life!

Psoriasis is a disease that takes place when the body’s immune system mistakenly believes healthy skin cells to be enemy cells and starts to produce many more new cells to replace these cells. This is the reason why there is no cure for psoriasis and medications applied to treat psoriasis are only able to remove the symptoms temporarily. Don't go the "cream route", it's only just a waste of time and money. Been there Done that!

You need to read "Psoriasis Free For Life" by Katy Wilson if you want to cure your psoriasis for good. Available online also @ http://www.psoriasisforeverfree.com It's a book that shows you how to cure psoriasis naturally in a few days. I cured my psoriasis permanently in 6 days after reading this book. Good luck!

I have heard that bathing in Oats is very good for Psoriasis, while not a cure, it does soothe it, get an old pair of clean tights, cut off the foot, fill with porridge oats, then hang over the tap allowing the hot water to flow over it thus releasing the oats, or, alternatively you can mix some oats with hot water and make into a smoothe paste, rub on the affected area, leave for half an hour then rinse off.

Another soothing alleviator is a tub of Aqueous Cream, then add a few drops of peppermint oil, mix well, the Aqueous cream will soothe and moisturise, while the peppermint oil will cool the problem, making it a little more tolerable, this is also very good for dry itchy skin.

I am not a doctor, but I have had psoriasis since I was 13 years of age. I am now 41 and still have it. Although there is no cure as yet, there are many treatments to alleviate the condition depending on its severity and location.

One treatment is tar baths, which is exactly as it sounds. You take a small amount of special formulation coal tar solution (a couple of capfuls usually) and pour them into a comfortably hot bath. U then soak your body in this solution for a period of time, usually 20 minutes. There are also a variety of creams to rub into your skin, but this must be done with care, as they are quite strong.

When the psoriasis is especially severe, your doctor may recommend that you go to hospital for a period of time and have some intensive treatment. This comprises all of the above treatments plus sun lamp treatment, where you go in a room and Ultra-Violet (UV) rays are shone on your body to ease your symptoms.

You should not attempt any self treatment of this condition, you should see a doctor first, who will refer you to the appropriate specialist in your area.

Psoriasis is a hereditary condition, which is more prevalent in girls than boys, but no one seems to know why that is the case. It is aggravated by high stress levels and sunlight (although in some cases sunlight is helpful, especially artificial sunglight such as solariums). I would advise you to check this with your doctor and specialist first as not everyone has the same symptoms with the condition.

I hope this helps shed some light on things for you.

Yes. Psoriasis is usually a case of auto-intoxication. Doing an in depth series of cleanses, focusing on the bowel and removing impacted stool and related toxic accumulations will do wonders. This is something dermatologists fail to address, and is a big problem. Also, remove wheat and dairy. They are "glue" and will cause your intestines and bowels to degenerate. Look into Dr.Bernard Jensen's protocol for reversing psoriasis. The book "Tissue Management through Bowel Cleansing," is a must read for anyone suffering from this completely reversible disease. Cortisone and Antibiotics, though perhaps a momentary fix, will make the condition worse long term. Good luck!

No cure here either, but I have had psoriasis for 20+ years. I am a RN and I try to stay current on new treatments. i have used creams, ointments, tar preparations, UVA and UVB tanning and even $20,000 immunosuppressive injections(sure glad insurance paid). My 10 year old daughter was diagnosed 3 months ago. Within 1-2 weeks after we noticed the first spots, her whole body was covered. We went to the dermatologist and immediately began tanning for 5 weeks, daily. She showed moderate improvement. But about 4 weeks ago, a uncle visited and sweared by Nivea Original Lotion for his psoriasis. We used it for two weeks and saw great improvement in both of us. I was skeptical myself but thought I would give it a try since it was inexpensive. We use it daily after we shower. The first few times we applied it , it sort of burned the most irritated places, but now no problems. Hope this helps, you never know.

There is no cure for psoriasis. It is a genetic skin condition. There are meds that are useful in keeping at bay. See a DR. Also try sunning or a tanning bed
