It's good you're interested in safety, a lot of people do crazy things for vanity and it just makes a very thin-sick person.

Of course you know your body stores extra calories. So the theory is to make your caloric expendatures greater than your caloric intake. Easier said than done right? :-)

I've had great success with eating lots of small meals a day. Here's my schedule:
7:00am - meal replacement shake (lots of vitamins)
9:00am - croissant sandwhich with sausage and orange juice
11:00am - healthy choice frozen dinner
2:00pm - lowfat yogurt
6:00pm - total cereal with soy milk
**drink tons of water all day long.

plus at work i always go to the bathroom furthest away from me to help burn calories, and upstairs. I then do cardio on the recumbant bike, you can stay on that thing forever and just burn calories like crazy.

Don't starve yourself, but do work hard and you'll shed the pounds safely.

Diet and excercise. Count calories in and exercise out. Doesn't really matter how you accomplish the calories in and the excercise out just as long as you keep what you burn (excercise and your resting metabolic rate) more than what you eat. Safest way, no surgery, no gimmick diet plan, no questionable drugs in your system.
