It's based on the mom's side of the family. So if his mom's dad is bald then he probably will be. If he is balding he can take pills like Propecia (he has to get a prescription from a Dr.) It doesn't grow much hair back, but it does prevent further loss.

There is a certain amount of genetics involved in hair loss, so in all likelihood, your boyfriend will probably have a similar pattern of balding at some point - although it may not be as rapid or as much as his father.

Tell your bf that some hair loss is sexy because it means an over-production of testosterone - which is the man hormone. He can also try over the counter and prescription hair loss remedies if he's that worried about it - but yes, he will probably show a similar pattern of balding as he gets older.

The genes for baldness are passed through the mother. So if his maternal grandfather is bald, he likely will have some male pattern baldness. But as I always say, God made just so many perfect heads... the rest He covered with hair.

Don't worry my dear, just because his father is balding, doesn't mean that he is destined to the same fate. You see, instead of looking at his father, you should be looking at his mothers father, or his mothers brothers, because the loss of hair is only inhereted on the mothers side. Don't ask me why, its just a strange genetic trait.
So if you find that many people on his mothers side have a full head of hair, he'll most likely have a shaggy head intill his Golden years.....but if not, he could always shave it all off, and go for the biker dude look.

Not always. Sometimes it skips a generation or your bf could take after his mom's side. My grandpa is totally bald and has been since a young age but my dad has a full head of hair. Tell your bf not to worry so much or he'll definatley lose his hair. lol

Not necessarily. The baldness gene comes from the mother's father. If he was bald there is a good chance your boyfriend will share the same fate

actuallly the bald gene comes from the mother for some reason also depending on age, usually if a guy still has all his hair in his early 20s he will have hair thru out his life but if he is receding or thining out (like some of my old high school friends) its all over hope he has a hairy *** to transplant to his head

Yep, being bald is genetically inherited just like the color of your eyes or hair, but it doesn't mean 100 %, just more tend to than others.

Anyways who cares whether he is bald or not if you love him, i think sometimes bald people are more charismatic because they are rare lol

I am sick of people wearing colored lens instead of their natural eye color. They look weird until you used to.

If he isn't too bothered by his baldness, it is okay, no big deal. First he must like the way he is. It is like first respect yourself then you will notice people respect and like you that turns out boosting your self esteem, and confidence.

i think the balding gene is from the Mother's side, so if his Grandpa on his moms side is bald them more then likely he will bald not the dad's family.

Hope this helps
