Seems kind of obvious why the cat is sick or injured.

Whoa some mad people out there. I've heard people complain (in real life) about vet bills to get there cat patched up when they get hit by a car or mauled by another cat. I was just wondering why that was because I honestly can't figure it out. I've even heard (once again in real life) people blame the cat! I just was looking for some others opinions as to why the thought this was.

Are you all crazy? There is nothing stupid about letting a cat go outside! They are meant to be outdoors - it's in their nature to go out, especially at night, so that they can hunt etc. They are animals, and I think it's incredibly cruel to keep a cat cooped up indoors all the time. Indoor cats end up fat and lazy.

As for them getting injured and sick, well, it's a risk you take when you let a cat out. Hopefully it wont happen, but if it does, then you get the vet to make the cat better!

Mine are primarily inside cats. Had a problem with one of my boys (I have 3 total) getting out for a while. He ran into some larger animal about 4 years ago and got the pulp pounded out of him. Didn't cure him too long, but we now live in an apartment building style condo, so he has two doors to go through and that's too much work for him.

I have four cats who all go outside in our fenced-in yard, and none of them have ever been sick or injured. My mom used to let her cats outside without a fence, and they were all okay, too.

I do not know, but I am ready to throw my cat outside as well. Maybe it is because cats are a pain in the @ss and I would rather my cat be sick than me be covered with a zillion scratch marks.

I haven't heard anybody complaining except for you. Just because somebody ask for help while they grieve over the loss of a pet doesn't mean they're complaining to anybody. This is a pet forum for cat lovers where most people will offer their compassion and sympathy.

Anyone who complains about their cat being sick and injured is a piece of shi- who doesn't deserve a kitty. Do they think they got injured or sick on purpose. ?
