From my understanding Cirrosis of the liver is a build up of scar tissue on the liver usually caused by alochol and bad eating habits. My brother has just been diagnosised with a fatty liver and if he doesn't straighten up his diet and drinking habits will eventually end up with Cirrosis of the liver from scar tissue that will build up on his liver eventually needing a new liver if he could get one soon enough. Go to mywebmd.com and look into it that's where I got my information from.

Cirrosis of the liver is usually caused by alcohol consumption, and can destroy your liver, there are other causes though, but it does extreme damage, and very costly to get a new liver, or get on the list for one, and I believe they go by what caused the cirrosis to start with.

Plenty of things can cause liver cirrhosis. the main causes are alcohol abuse and untreated hepatitis. Effects are partial or total liver failure, which prevents your body from getting rid of toxins. one of the most obvious symptoms is the yellowish color of the skin. The only available treatment is dialysis or liver transplant.
