Every day there are MANY people posting questions about their cat which just had kittens.. I am totally disgusted at how many people are allowing their cats to go around unspayed and contribute to the overpopulation of cats... are people just stupid or selfish or what??? THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of kittens are euthanized every day because of dopey people like them.

Wow you just opened a can of worms. Lots of interesting responses too. Some people feel you should worry about humans, not kittens. That's one that I won't even touch because you're obviously not going to bring up human issues on a pet forum, duh! I agree with you 110%. One person (kewtiepie1991) needs a good smack in the head and shouldn't even be allowed to have animals because she is a total ignoramus! I think we should sterilize her as well so she can't reproduce her ignorance. LOL! Then there are the other idiots who talk about not being able to afford to spay or neuter their pet. HEY MORONS, DON'T GET A PET THEN! Or even better, how about adopting a pet that's already neutered or spayed??? There are MILLIONS OF THEM! DUH! And I can't even tell you how many organizations offer low cost spay/neuter certificates to people who can't afford them. I know because I donate lots of $$$ every year to these organizations. Heck, in my state and many others you can buy vanity plates from the DMV and the $ goes towards low cost spaying & neutering. And to the other dingbat who said that there must not be so many homeless cats because if there were, pet stores and adoption centers wouldn't charge money for them also could use a lesson in economics. Most adoption centers charge a SMALL FEE for the adoption to help cover their costs of caring for the animals. THESE ARE NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGS PEOPLE. And when you adopt a cat from these places you usually get them already with their shots and everything. Instead why not rescue a stray from behind a dumpster somewhere and see how "free" it is after you get done with the vet bills to bring the cat back to a healthy state (deworming, immunizations, flea control).

So yeah, I'm right there with ya sista. It's pretty damn disgusting. If people are so fascinated with the birth of kittens, do like I did. I've rescued many a mother cat and her entire family and spent $1000's of dollars making them healthy and adopting them out to loving families FOR FREE. And I am helping humanity with this because every human being that appreciates and learns compassion for all living, breathing creatures becomes a better human being. Cats and other pets enrich the lives of their families every single day. Children are taught valuable lessons in compassion and responsibility. Adults learn about unconditional love and loyalty. Well...at least the intelligent ones do. The rest of you nincompoops GET OFF MY PLANET IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET ALONG PROPER WITH ALL THE SPECIES!

There, I'm done with my rant.

Yes, I think it is a combination of stupid and selfish or maybe just uneducated. It can't be the cost because there are free and low cost clinic everywhere. I wish everyone would be required to volunteer at a humane society for a month to see what it's like. I bet they would get their pets fixed then. And the people that give them away for free really irritate me too. So many kittens and puppies go as snake food, or fighting dog bait, or to be sold to research while the original owners either don't know or don't care. It makes me very angry and very sad. Please everyone, Take responsibility for your pets. Have them Spayed or Neutered. And for the people that think it's OK to let them breed. Go check out http://www.petfinder.com Just search for cat and you come up with 93,751 that need homes. And that is only about half of the pounds and rescues. Not everyone is on it.

i think it is pretty stupid to let you cat run loose not sprayed or neutered because you could soon find out that you have baby kittens. The worst of all is that people are very mad at there cats and doesn't want there cat to have baby's well its not the cats fault it is the peoples faults. Then many people take them to the nearby animal shelter and they end up living lots of there lives in the animal shelter and maybe will not have the best temper because they have been locked up in a cage all there lives. All because of one not so smart human letting there cats go places not neutered or sprayed

I so totally agree with you. My own local shelter has a 50% kill rate across the board. I'm told that they are doing really well at adopting animals.
So many said " if I find them a home". Have you checked? Do they still have a home?
I rescued a cat with 2 kittens, thought I found the kittens a home. Come to find out, they were put out on the street at the age of one, unneutered. They were left on their own.

Its funny you say that because I was going to buy a kitten and I can't find any there all to expensive at the pet shops and adoption center you have to pay $100 for one. So my question is where the heck are all these thousands because if there are selling so expensive that means there not so many like you think there are. If there was then they would sell them real cheap.

My mom used to have a cat that would be pregnant as soon as the last batch of kittens were weaned. That cat put out over 100 kittens. Any black cat in our local pet stores is probably one of her descendants. They finally kept her locked in the laundry room (this was after I moved out...was my job to get rid of kittens) and got her into the vet to get fixed.

I have three cats. They were all fixed before they were old enough to reproduce. I had enough of getting rid of kittens!

Rosa, your poetry has rather come on in leaps and limits. All of those are well poems. I desire you might put up them one by one even though. I will come again later whilst I have extra time to deliver you my opinion on each and every one. See ya later... Edit: Rosa the primary poem is by means of a long way my favorite. It can also be extended extra and Candy has given you an thought how you'll cross approximately it. In reality you've gotten had a few well critique already from persons who've made a few intelligent strategies to you. The first poem I rather, rather like. It isn't darkish in any respect to me. It is a poem of wish and it is extremely heartfelt. Nicely performed.

That's why it's important for people like YOU & ME to get the word out about local programs that help to stop the birth of defenseless kittens by spaying or nuetering, some even include the first set of shots for a small fee, @ present time it's $40.00 per cat, like the FLOYD COUNY ANIMAL RESCUE SOCIETY, of NEW ALBANY IN. I thank our FATHER above for these people who do this work & alot of them are voluntary. They fix ferral cats for free.

If you are so passionate about the rescue of all these cats and kittens. Do you do any volunteer work at your local shelters or communitee to teach people about care of or these animals or how to prevent them from populating. Have you spoke to any vets office in your area to see if they cant start a program to help people who cant afford the cost of spaying or nuetering. How are you helping your communitee with the problem?

Yes people need to stop having people and cats need to be fixed. A cat thats allowed to have one litter and keep them all does live the longest however. And I have never seen cats with more personality then a whole group that got to stay together.
