This is a very debatable question. The answer, whatever answer you choose, does not have any proof. Just as there is no actual proof whether humans have souls or not. One might say yes, and base their answers on the bible, but another may say no and base their answer on Buddhism.
Personally, I think every living thing has a soul, whether it be human, animal, or even a tree. The way I see it, a soul is like a battery for life. Without it, you can't live, regardless of who or what you are.

Well I know in my heart that they do because if God did not put animals in his kingdom then that would not be a very fun or loving heaven would it? The only proof that I have is the only proof I need I do not know if it will be enough proof to you but this is my story. I had a lab mix I got her when I was 13 I had her for a loving 17 years then she got cancer and she lost the battle. She died 7 days before my 30th birthday The night my baby girl died I prayed that god take care of her and if it be his will to let me see her one more time. That same night I had a dream my baby girl was not sick no more she came running to me and licked my face and we played and played. After that I still have dreams of us playing together. I am 32 yrs old now and some times I smell her like she is sitting right next to me only for a second or two then it is gone. Yes I do believe that animals have souls and I do believe that you are also reunited with all the pets you ever owned when you cross to the other side.

Have no proof, but I've owned some dogs that had more heart, soul whatever you want to call it than many people I know. I had some Jehovah's Witnesses once tell me a camel has a soul because somewhere in the Old testament it talks about some man having servants, donkeys and camels, ____ souls in all. I don't know if you consider that proof or not. Is there any proof that man has a soul?

Good question, however, no one can give you proof either way. I grew up in a very religious family, my grandfather was the preacher of our church until he died in 1994 and I've asked him that question in the past to which he replied "no". I think the theory biblically speaking is that animals don't really know right from wrong and can never reach a state of accountability for their actions or the consequences of their actions the way humans do. On the other hand, I had a poodle when I was a small boy, it was older than I was and was already a family member when I was born. When I was three she accidentally got outside and my own father accidentally ran over her in the driveway (he felt horrible about it). For awhile after that I'm pretty sure I saw that dog in the house fairly often (laying in her fav. spots, running around etc), just fleeting glimpses though. So it's a quandary for me... Yes! No! Maybe?

Yes, dogs do have souls but there is no proof that can be given. I really do not care what the Bible says or anyone's interpretation of it. God, in all his wisdom, would not put animals on this earth without Souls. I truly believe this. I have 5 babies at the Rainbow Bridge and I know they are there. My last little girl arrived there May 20th.

of course animals have souls. Proof: animals have feelings and emotions just like us human beings. If they did not then they would not have any heart, or even any way to express themsleves. In fact, if animals had no soul than there would no such thing as a man's best freind(meaning animals). also animals would not have intelligence, they would not know how to eat, how to walk or how to do anything. If you watch animals carefully, you would realize that they cock their head sometimes as if they were listening to your every word, which of course they are! They also know when you are feeling down or depressed and try to comfort you, they know when you are happy and they want to play or they wag their tails. If you are hurt or injured some dogs will lick your wound as if they are are sorry that they let you get hurt and want to nurse it and make it all better to stop the pain. I know all of this because i have animals. I have 4 dogs, 4 cats, 2 rabbits, 1 frog and 1 snail. if animals did not have souls then they would not do all of these things. Believe me animals have souls, just like us. watch them closesly and you will see what i mean!

There is no proof either way until you die, then you can find out for yourself. Other than that it depends on your religion as to if an animal has a soul or not.
As for me, it can't be called heaven if there is a sign at the door that reads "NO PETS ALLOWED"..... that would just be another version of hell in my opinion.

No, I really don't think animals have souls. If they did don't you think they would go to Heaven or Hell when they die? I don't think they go to either place. Also, I looked up soul at dictionary.com and it didn't say anything about animals just humans having souls. Animals are not human though. I don't see them walking around on two legs and speaking english. So whoever it was that said animals are humans are retarded!!!

No. I'm going to give a religious standpoint.. it says that in the Bible, in the beginning, God only gave souls to humans. I'm sorry to say this, and I sort of can't believe it either, but with the evidence given I doubt animals have souls.

Did you every notice that if you have yelled at or even hit a dog, it still returns love to the person who was the source of it’s bad treatment. This does not come from stupidity. It is because God has given dogs a deep compassionate understanding of human shortcomings. A tolerant spirit dwells in the heart of dogs that ask only to be your true friend. YES dogs have souls. I have seen my dogs souls many times when I look in his eyes. God loves puppy dog too.
