Go to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for the A-200
shampoo,it works every time.

Best way is use a product called RID, and the supplied Nit comb. If boys are involved a haircut is highly recommend. The hair will grow back. Wash all linen with any additive found at your local Pharmacy for this purpose. It will be time consuming.
A better than usual house cleaning is all that is required.
Note:
Book bags
Notebooks
Plush toys all need checking.

If the problem does not get resolved, it may be you fail to delouse enough or someone at school still has it. It is not the end of the world.

I remember those days...not fun at all.....buy some lice shampoo from walmart or the drug store...use it as directed...use the comb included very well...very small pieces at a time...go over the hair and under the hair with the comb. ..vacuum everywhere and wash the sheets in hot water. ...clean hairbrushes and combs then boil on stovetop for a bit. ...after vacuuming take the vacuum bag OUT OF THE HOUSE...or the lice will crawl out of the bag and find their way back to you heads..buy a spray (shoould be locate next to the shampoo) to spray furniture and mattresses with. In really bad infestations all plush toys should be sealed in plastic bags and removed from the house for 2 weeks......will take a while to do all this, but if you do everything really well the first time, they should be gone, if not , you will have to repeat in a few days.

Before beginning any treatment:

• Test a small scalp section for allergic reactions to the medication
• A vinegar rinse helps loosen nits
• Wash hair with regular shampoo
Treatments for applying to the scalp and hair include:
• Olive oil or petroleum ointment to smother the lice.
Cover the head with a shower cap, four to six hours per day for three to four days
• Olive oil (three parts) and essential oil of lavender (one part)
• Herbal shampoos or pomades
• A mixture of paw paw, thymol, and tea tree oil
• A combination of coconut oil, anise, and ylang ylang
• Other mixtures of essential oils
• RID Pure Alternative, a nontoxic, hypoallergenic, dye and fragrance-free product
• A spray containing phenethyl propionate, cedar oil, peppermint oil, and sodium lauryl sulfate (LiceFreee)
• Cocamide DEA (a lathering agent), triethanolamine (a local irritant), and disodium EDTA (a chelator),
(SafeTek)is both a nontoxic pediculicide and a conditioner for combing out lice and nits Cutting the hair or shaving the head may be effective. Aromatherapies also are available. Infested eyelashes and eyebrows should be treated with petroleum jelly for several days and the nits should be plucked off with tweezers or fingernails.

well you have to get RID it is a hair treatment .. or u can just cut the boys hair really really short. You have to wash everything in the house and iron the mattr's and the couches, heat kills lice.. Just wash all the clothes and blankets and throw out the brushes and get new ones! By the way wash everything in Hot water! Dont worry this is what happends to kids!

The kids or the lice?

But seriously folks....

There are shampoos that you can use to kill the lice. You may need a perscription for it. Also, there are very fine toothed combs that can be used to physically remove the lice.

Clean the bedding. I think you can purchase a detergent additive that will kill the little critters in your washing machine.

Although this might give you a case of the heebie-jeebies, it's no big deal.

Gotta buy Rid. They have it Walmart, Walgreens....it's gonna be a pain w/your daughter's hair, but I'd say do it twice on her. It will also take a long time with that tiny comb they give you, but it must be done. Also, vacuum evrything in the house. If you have pets-call the vet. Lice can only live up to 4 hrs. w/o a " host ". Good luck-4 of my 5 boys got it & I had to cut my very long hair........

Get lice kits from the pharmacy, grocery store or Walmart. Wash everybody's hair in the household with it, and use that little comb to remove eggs and dead lice right after. You will need to retreat everyone in the household in one to two weeks.

Wash everything in the laundry and closets in HOT water - what you can't wash put in sealed plastic bags, and don't open them for at least 2 weeks (put them somewhere where no holes can possibly get in them).

Then, you spray the unwashable things (beds, couches, carpets etc) with the lice spray--this is very important.

One of my girlfriends didn't want to use harsh chemicals either. She combed out her hair over the tub twice a day wih a VERY fine toothed comb for a week and that took care of it she said. Also, I understand you can wash your bedding in hot water with detergent or just seal it into very tight bags for five weeks.

If you want to go the drugstore route, they do make a special shampoo that takes care of things in one day and there is a spray you can use on your bedding too.

I'm sorry it happened, it has nothing to do with you or your kids cleanliness, just something kids get like skinned knees and bruised elbows.

There is a product that you can get from your pediatrician that works extremely well. I can'tr remember the name of it. Also, it's kind of messy but works just as well. Cover their hair in vaseline and put a shower cap on it before they go to bed. It suffocates the head lice (like fleas/ticks) and they can be removed easily the following morning. Wash all bedding and anything they can hide in with hot water and bleach to kill any hiding bugs. Good luck!
