We've been taught by Jesus that God listens to us through "Prayer AND Fasting." Try that sometime.
Fasting is merely a discipline that one observes in consecrating one's self to God. You can easily get by with a liquid diet [water, soda, etc.] for one day. Then work your way gradually to extra days the next attempts you make.
And make sure when you do pray and fast, always do it in your own privacy or in secret, i.e., without telling others at all.
Peace be with you!

I personally have been touched by the power of prayer...probably before that i never took it as seriously, 2 years back, my mother had been taken to hospital and no one in the family knew that this was a start of our test in life...my mother had been diagonised as being very critical, was taken to ICU, and for one week she had been in comma, there was 50-50 chances of her survival but the worst was expected, the most difficult part of the situation was me questioning God..why my family? We asked all we knew to pray and pray to God...During this tenure i had seen many unexpected things i never knew about, like my special needs brother crying for our mother and praying, tears filling his eyes...i felt weak...and doubted God for the turn in our lives....many people came and consoled us that all will be fine but there was something much more than sympathy i needed....My father decided to hold a novena and we all agreed...and now the miracles began..not big but minute ones...my mother started breathing 5% one day then 10% another..and so forth....this is how it was working...we all felt like being protected by a mystical power....and after 1 year my mother is well and with us by the grace of God, Doctor's can't explain this in medical terms but they believe that someone more wiser than them was involved in the healing. Don't care what others feel about the power of prayer but let me tell you....he is always beside you to listen when you ask him....the belief of prayer is phenomenal coz it could never be written about but felt...just like a heart-beating inside you...only you can feel the true feeling. Not everything has been expressed above coz that would be impossible....God bless all!!

Matt. 18:19 says.....That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
It doesn't matter how many are praying as long as the people are in agreement. Acts. 2:1-4 is a perfect example of a group of people praying in agreement.
Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
I belong to the United Pentecostal Church and we believe in cooperate prayer. If there is one in your town, you should visit it and see how you like it. I think you will find what you're looking for there. God bless you.

God is listening.
The "energies" of people praying isn't what produces the action, or return... its God. The bible supports this communication & out reach of prayer.
Lets keep it simple though... do you need to have someone with you or a team to talk to someone you know? someone your fond of? Its hard to believe praying to God or a "god" will do anything if you don't believe who you pray to isn't really there. Faith is what sustains a believer in knowing God is listening & answering. There isn't any special chant or style or prayer beads that are necessary for communication with God... just pray & know in your heart why you're praying to Him.
Sometimes the most valuable response to my prayers, in my experience (if i can translate, ever how God answers mine), isn't a response at all... not all prayers need answers revealed... He is in control... and in that I am at peace.

i was raised in church also. i believe that if you pray about something you need or want, God will answer your prayer, but not always in the way you want. or you might not even know God has answered your prayer, but i do know he always will.

According to the Bible God hears and answers prayer. I personally don't believe in any kind of energy force that proceeds from people, christian or not.
