Why not just use the fish symbol. The cross is horrible, and most depictions show him on it, bleeding. Why worship the horror?

What kind of question is that? I'd wear a fish because thats a Christian symbol and I only wear a cross to witness to others and show that I am a Christian.

I wear my cross to remind me, just so I don't go getting all ticked off at something, which I'm prone to do, and forget about Him. If He'd been killed with a sword, maybe I'd wear a silver sword, who knows, who cares? I like the fish symbol too, the thing is, they're symbols to us for the purpose of remembering Him. I don't think anyone actually worships the cross, the fish or whatever, its simply to remind us.

First of all Christians don't worship a "thing". Be it a cross or crucifix. As for the cross being "horrible", well crucifixion was horrible. What good would it do to ignore the facts?

Jesus was crucified, there's no getting around it. Had he been stabbed to death with a sword perhaps a sword would be our sign but that's not what happened.

We are not supposed to wear any symbols at all. Remember the ten commandments? Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images of anything that is in heaven above or on earth below."
Wearing symbols came in through the catholic church and has become quite popular in recent years. Early Christians used no symbols at all. The fish was not a symbol of Christians it was a secret sign used when the persecuted church wanted to hold a meeting and they would scratch it in the dirt of the road to notify others.

Because they are not taught correctly. If the people were taught what the cross really means, no human on the face of this earth would ever wear one again. So don't blame the people Blame the Pastor's that are teaching them in-correctly. Another thing those that wear the cross are paying homage to 3 pagan gods.

you don't worship the horror. you remember the pain he took when he went in yours and my place most christians only have an empty cross because he is no longer dead he defeated death after he was resurected. so you and I can defeat death also.but the glory is still his AMEN. and if you look hard enough the cross looks like a sword stuck in the ground.

There shouldn't be any symbol as to Christianity. Exodus 20.4-5 " You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything[..]" Images of whatever kind is against the Bible.

If He had been killed with a sword, people would probably wear little swords on their necklaces instead of little crosses.

it's because of the horror of the crucifixion that makes him all the more worthy.

I do not have a problem with the Jesus fish; I think it is rather neat.

The cross is used to remind us of all of the torture Jesus went through for sinful mankind.
