Yes.
Recognize three things and you will be happy if you act on those realizations:
1) pleasure is not happiness, and while you are feeling superior or inferior you CANNOT be happy simultaneously. You cannot be angry/fearful/worried/frustrated and happy at the same time. Give them up. Be aggressive/cautious, but leave the other emotions out of your life.
2) Every wall/mask between you and others is one more brick between you and happiness. Barriers between you and reality are what cause you to forget the natural state we call happiness but lose in childhood.
3) No one owes you anything that you haven't both agreed to being owed ahead of time. That includes reality/God. Your expectations of what is owed to you is one of your greatest barriers to happiness.
Happiness is what you feel when you don't have walls between you and reality. Eden is right here. The fiery sword between us and Eden is just our own self-esteem. Speaking figuratively, of course.
However, if you enjoy pain and loneliness, continue as you are. Most do.

Happiness comes from within. You have to find your own happiness; no one can make you happy. And it's not fair to put that huge responsibility on someone else. Furthermore, who ever said you were supposed to be happy? God never promised any of us a rose garden.

Happiness is a byproduct of doing other things. No one can make you happy. You have to make yourself happy. Good luck!
