for a first car and suv is not a good idea...too top heavy easy to flip. possibly something like a cobalt or a civic something smaller but sturdy.

You're best bet is going to be a compact car. They always have the best gas milage which is so all important right now. They're also really good for parallel parking and driving/parking in cities where spaces are tiny. Plus and this is probably the best reason, they're the cheapest cars you can find. My first was a Chevy Cavalier which I loved. It was a great car, but the resale wasn't so great. Honda has the best resale. The car I have now is a Saturn Ion, which is also great. SUVs are cool, but they devour gas like crazed monsters so you could wind up paying more than $50 everytime you want to fill up, and they have a bad rep for tipping over in accidents. Here's a really good site to compare new and used cars. It helped alot my first time out. Good luck.

16 and you want an SUV?
Unless Mommy and Daddy are really rich you probably can't afford one on a part-time job salary.
Start out with something like a Honda Accord, Ford Escort/Focus, or any sort of Toyota.
If you really really just absolutely need a SUV then go with a smaller SUV, not nearly as much of a gas guzzler and usually less expensive. Something along the lines of a Ford Escape or Honda CRV.

I agree with Peaches. An SUV is not good for a first car. Don't get something really small either. You are more likely to be in an accident, and small cars don't offer as much protection. I would try something like a Subaru Outback. It has as much room as a small SUV, and it has all-wheel-drive, but it's not as likely to tip over.

a SUV really isnt a bad first car, and people clame that there really easy to flip over, but there not. i've tried out many SUV's and the one i think that's a good first car is the Ford Explorer, they stay to the road good and even one with a V6 has plenty of power

Dont touch a Jeep, and SUV's arent any safer, their rollover threat is greater than vehicles. Honda & Ford Fusion rank hi in CR. If u wana play remember of the Week, Toyota. proper deal is used creampuff from inner maximum occasion, w/ provider records, broker plenty favorite, & solid identify, ie no longer salvage, robbery restoration, undesirable twist of fate, and so on. companies like vehicle lenders have lo mi creampuffs eligible for production facility guarantee.

i dont fink a SUV is a smart idea as a first car...try a Mazda3...they look sick as,powerful, well built and fun to drive, as well as being very safe.civic wouldnt b a bad option either, but it looks more boring, and the focus n corolla...lets not start there..

unless youve been driving for a while like 2+years,
an SUV's not a great idea however, if you do, a KIA SUV
is good;decent gas efficncy, and they're not too big to navagate
and they're priced moderetly
