The dwindling lack of social skills brought about by our increasing use of communications and internet technology. How much face-to-face interaction do we have anymore to carry out our responsibilities at work and at home? Nearly all tasks of our daily lives can be conducted via email, internet, IM, etc. Even though the world is becoming "smaller", we, as individuals, are becoming more isolated from one another.

People are more concerned with their own wants and needs and ignore the best interest of others. People are too used to getting their way and most are spoiled, especially here in the US. A lot of Americans simply don't realize how good they have it here, they are too self absorbed! Manners here are almost completely gone, as is common courtesy and politeness!

I think that's a generalization. There are rude people out there, but there have always been. Our newspaper has a section about kind things people have done, and it is always full of stories of people returning lost purses and wallets, people stopping to help people w/car trouble.
I think people just need reminders once in a while about common courtesy and kindness.

Because parents teach their kids that they are entitled to whatever they want and that everything is all about them. Therefore, few people have manners or care about others.
