Didn't God tell Joseph that Jesus was the Messiah. Was Joseph the 13th disciple?

Neither Mary nor Joseph, nor Jesus' brothers seem to know he is the Messiah. I guess they just kind of forgot about the whole angel visitation and virgin birth thing.

The Bible is silent about Joseph, but I imagine that the reverse is true. Jesus grew up loving and obeying His earthly father, Joseph, who apparently was one of the Elders and builders [carpenter] of their Essene community in the village of Nazareth...

The Essenes were the third largest group among the Jewry, consisting of the Pharisees as the largest group, followed by the Saduccees, then by the Essenes.

The Essenes were a band of prophets, visionaries and scribes that 'separated' themselves from mainstream society and built their own communities away from the cities --i.e. they were in the 'wilderness'-- and two such known communities were in Nazareth, located at the foothills of Mt. Carmel, and the other in Qumran, high above the cliffs overlooking the Dead Sea. The latter was situated close enough to Jerusalem. Joseph and young Mary lived in Nazareth, while her cousin Elizabeth and husband Zachariah lived in Qumran, where John was born. Zachariah was a high priest [incenser] at the Temple of Jerusalem. Joseph was a carpenter, builder and presumably an Elder of Nazareth.

Generations earlier, it was the Prophet Elijah who was/is credited to have started the Brotherhood of Essenes following his showdown with the prophets of King Ahab on Mt. Carmel...

Peace be with you!

Joseph knew Jeus was something, but exactly what Joseph thought we'll never know. He could not have been a diciple though, he was already dead by the time Jesus started his ministry.

The bible never mentions Jospeh in Jesus' adult years when he started began to minister. But he was fully aware of Who He was.

Of course he worshiped him. He was a homosexual man and had a burning desire to make love to jesus brokeback mountain style. Not that there's anything wrong with it.
