I am writing an expiremental play about women. I need some inspiration from the women of the world. I have some ideas, but I need it to be real...I want depth, you know? I am young...and I am a nobody...but I have a dream and a vision for someting great! And, I'd love for everyone to be a part of it! Anything, anything at all...it can be happy, sad, really just anything!

Thanks for your time.

See her book:
Twenty-One Days With A Vulture is an autobiographical account of the author's vacation of a lifetime transformed into a harrowing personal nightmare. This is an interesting story of abuse and escape.

A very interesting request.

Your play will be about my wife, if I can convince her to write about herself. I met her in 1970 while we were in high school. We fell in love and were together for 4 years. We broke up for reasons that we did not understand at the time, but involved a tragic experience we both were involved in. From my perspective, I did not have contact with her for 25 years. When she contacted me, she was a very troubled person with a need to resolve our past. The next few years were a whirlwind of revelations and personal upheavals that are really hard for even us to believe.

We have both talked often about writing our story. We have 6 years of emails (literally thousands) saved that document what we went through.

As soon as I saw your question, something told me to write this response. I hope you feel the same connection.

Sophia!

Here is the story of my Mom Rosemary. I appreciate the opportunity to tell it. Well, a small piece of it anyway - she is a great inspiration and the most ambitious person I know. My father left when I was year old so she raised me alone with only her mother to help. She knows even less about her father than I know about mine. There were times that she worked 3 jobs to make ends meet and I often had to be left alone or bussed to Gramma's on my own as young as age 4. It's just the way things had to be. I grew up with no family to speak of but my Mom went out of her way to get me involved in activities such as soccer and boy scouts. She always did the best she could and was overly strict to keep me on the straight and narrow the best she could. She never once bad-mouthed my father as much as that situation hurt her.

We didn't have the money for a private school but she forced me to go to an all-guy Catholic high school where I had to scrub chalk boards after school to help pay my way through. I never had a date until I was 21 and I was taught responsibility and respect for others. My Mom went back to school herself at 45, got her Bachelors degree and is still furthering her education today.

My mother worked for a University for nearly 20 yrs total, she became active with volunteering for the police dept and worked her way to the top in that capacity. She has been a strong community advocate for cleaning up the neighborhood and wasn't afraid to do so single-handedly.

In 1991 she headed off to the middle east (Saudi Arabia & Kuwait) where she worked in emergency communications for the American Red Cross during Desert Storm. She held the rank of Major even though she was not officially in the military.

When 9/11 happened she jumped into her car and drove across the state to New York City. She was right in the middle of volunteering her time and efforts to help save lives.

Last year found my Mom in Baghdad on yet another mission. She came home in the Fall and turned around to head off to South Korea where she signed on for an 18 month tour there.

Anyway, this is just a little bit of what my Mom has accomplished. Although we never had the close, "traditional" mother-son relationship I will always admire her ambition and accomplishments. Beyond all of that is the respect I have for her never seeking the spotlight and always working to help others tirelessly, often thanklessly. She does it only for the feeling it gives here and serves as a wonderful example of how we should all strive to live every day.

Remember Sophia - you aren't a "nobody" - you mean the world to more people than you know. Take every opportunity to do something nice for someone every day, even if they are a stranger. Just your smile could turn someone's day around and reward you with all the true happiness this world has to offer.

Best of luck to you, take care, Rock On...

I'm not sure if I'm answering this right, but I think it is always amusing how guys think we have our own 'code' and they think we are so confusing (which i bet we are but...) maybe this helped, but it probably didn't. Hope your project goes well though.
