This is the first stage of an OBE When we are at new place, or tired, or ill or in mental tension...this happens.
This state should turn to a full OBE...but in most of the cases this does not happen due to ignorance or anxiety.
In such state, one is half between astral body and physical body. One can hear both the voices and sounds at astral and physical levels.
Hence one thinks one is fully awakened...whereas he is not....There are many chances that you may listen to some voices telling future...which may not be correct always
90% of the people think this as a ghost attack...whereas it is a state of mind...in its high vibrational frequency.
Read some material on OBE and your fear will go away...

It sounds like a combination of a bad dream and sleep paralysis. It happens to me all the time. It's when you are only half alseep and you are aware of your surroundings, but your body is still releasing the chemical that is released while you're dreaming to keep you from moving around during your dream. Essentially, you get the sensation that you are awake (you know where you really are, ie. your bedroom) but still have elements of a dream (seeing things that aren't there), and to make it worse, you can't move. It is sometimes known as sleep terrors. It's really common and is nothing to worry about. It is usually brought on by stress. It's not a ghost and you probably aren't psychic. You can look up sleep paralysis or night terrors or just ask a doctor for more information

The human mind is an amazing thing, able to create illusions so powerful those who fall victim to hallucinations really believe they are true. You are especially susceptible to things like this when you are in that twilight zone between sleep and being awake, as you probably were with your cough. It is very hard, even in hindsight, to separate dream from reality, and as to the second thing it sounds more like a dream, since you say you woke up doing something.

I had one of those "paralyzing" nightmares, and even if I tried to call out, I couldn't. I woke up with my heart pounding, convinced that some evil gollum was racing around the walls of my room looking at me while I lay totally helpless. I tried calling out to my husband, but I could barely make my lips and tongue do anything I commanded them, and believe me, I was commanding them to f-ing move! I was freaked when I woke up.
what happens is this: there are four stages to sleep. The delta stage (the fourth stage) is total paralysis and lasts a few minutes, up to ten minutes. Your body needs this total relaxation in order to recoup energy. If you wake up during this time, and it has happened, what you described is exactly what happens.

It could have been an angel or guide informing you that your family member made it safely to the otherside. Usually they do that for you.
As for the pressure on your shoulder...no it's no ghost. It's you getting back into your body. It sounds like astral catalypsy. Its when your spirit tries to get back in your body and you become conscious and fight it. If you don't want it happening ask God for a quick reentry when astral traveling.

It sounds like one of two things. A combination of a nightmare and sleep paralysis either one on their own can be frightening. Or maybe you are being haunted, you could get a spiritualist or a priest to cleanse your house and see if that works. Good luck. Feel free to mail me if you are worried or need further support/advice x

To "shed gentle" ability to enlighten people who're uncovered to a source of recommendation and brings them to a sparkling wisdom of something they have been as quickly as interior the "dark" approximately. To proportion wisdom and stories with others.

The night my mother's grandfather was buried, she saw his spirit in the bedroom she was sleeping in. It was a small house so my mother had to share a bed with her grandmother (her grandfather's wife). Apparently, he was a blue-ish mist. The next morning, my mother's grandmother said "He came to me last night and told me he'd be waiting for me when my time came". So you probably saw someone's spirit.
As for the difficulty sleeping, you probably experienced Sleep Paralysis. You should check out the link to get more information.

It happens. It's just dreams. Also sometimes we are not fully awake but feel that we are. You want to move but can't. Nothing supernatural
