It is the most viable theory to date. It has a lot of evidence that backs it, and has been shown to be absolutely true on smaller species. The problem with larger ones is that it takes sometimes millions of years for it to be noticable. We have only had the resources to investigate such phenomena for a very, very short time. Evolution is absolutely true.

Edit: The guy right before me is an idiot. His "Why are monkeys still here?" question makes me ill everytime someone says it. This is the typical ignorant response you get when discussing biology with theists. Anyone who cares to disagree with evolution as a viable theory, do yourself a favor and at least understand its concepts.

I accept evolution as true. I also have a feeling that the P-E theory of evolution is also true, but that is opinion.

Proof of evolution: A new species of Salmon developed in a lake in Washington (state) after the lake was stocked with a progenitor species. The new species developed in about 60 to 70 years.

I do believe in evolution. I am not Catholic but I am a spiritual person. I do believe in god, but not the god people worship in churches, or the one you read about. I believe in the god that you can feel when you stand at the edge of the ocean, or under a frozen night sky. The god that you can feel when you open your arms to the sun. So I believe that this god is the god of everything on earth, and I don't know how we were created and frankly I don't care. I believe everything and everyone has a soul. If you only believe that humans have souls then you can't believe in evolution.

It's appalling how few people really understand evolution, yet how so many reject the concept based on a lack of understanding, combine with dogmatic adherence to religious doctrine.

I predict that, in the future, the current ID advocates will be held in equal esteem with those who prosecuted the Salem Witch Trials.

The likelyhood of us "evolving" from matter is according to scientific theory and molecular biologists is 1 in 10 to 100,000,000,000 th power... Even if all the matter in the universe were converted into the buildding blocks of life (amino acids, and nucleotides), and assembly of these blocks were attempted every microsecond for 17 billion years (the approx. age of the universe). the probablility would still be 10 to the 84th power which is 10 with like 5 hundred zeros behind it! I personally find it much more compelling a case to believe in god and the Bible than think we just evolved from matter. Do the research numbers don't lie...

PS If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes ? ....

I have an open mind toward evolution but as long as my beliefs are coming under attack I am not capable of listening to concepts. Especially, immature name calling. Why is a monkey not transforming into a human? Need to be answered!

There is no evidence for it yet, only speculation. Many scientist do not believe it is possible. Those who do believe it, can not explain any part of it. No scientist who believes in evolution will openly debate the subject with another scientist who believes in creation. Many scientist are taking a re-look at I.D. , but not openly for fear of harassment from the 'establishment'. I believe that evolution has seen its zenith. Time is its enemy.

Micro-evolution is common and accepted by all.

Macro-evolution is devoid of any proof and is only accepted by "faith".

BTW: Those who claim all this "evidence" of it occurring are deluded. The fossil record should be rife with transitional life forms. Instead it shows just the opposite.

Evolution is not proven, and for those of you whom think it is, you are sadly mistaken (if you wish to debate this my E-mail is pyro13maniac@yahoo.com SN:jnl1616). So in other words my opinion is that evolution isn't possible...

Dig Steel's answer.

Evolution is a name for the trends toward adaptation that we see. But it is important to remember that it happens on a case-by-case basis. A brown bunny gets caught in the snow, a white one doesn't.
