Does anyone else think we should start reporting teens and pre-teens who come to this section of the site looking for sex advice?

yeah sometimes it does depend on the question but more often than not they're just looking for advice on things they shouldn't be talking about or doing for that matter.

I understand that sometimes they are just asking because they are embarrassed to ask their parents and maybe their parents just aren't those kinds of parents who would listen to them, but there have been times when I've seen some ridiculous questions on here and I know for sure they are from bored teenagers who have no business asking some of the questions they ask--whether they are curious or not.

Yes, I think so. I have to wonder how many of these questions are real, and how many are not. I have a feeling most of them are fake questions, just meant to get a reaction out of us "normal" folks who come here for real advice. Honestly, the way these kids (lol...I feel so old!) write today with everything abbreviated, substituting numbers for words (2 for to), etc., I can barely read the posts most of the time anyway. LOL

I believe that parents are responsible for the time their kids spend on the internet, as well as where they go on the internet.

I believe that most of the people here, or a huge portion, are young teens with zero supervision on the internet, and possibly very little at any time, OR, they have very naive parents.

I believe that on the internet it's impossible to tell the age of the person, let alone gender, intentions, or anything else.

I believe that I have the right to interact here as an adult for the purpose that was intended for this forum.

I believe that I have a responsibility to respond to any question that I choose with sensitivity and respect towards whom I may be responding to.

What REALLY scares me is that this may be a LEGAL way for adults to interact intimately with minors. What REALLY disturbs me is that we consider reporting the kids, but not the adults that respond to them in ways that are completely inappropriate. Eventually, there's going to have to be a license or something in order to get into adult forums, or a special age icon next to their avitar...or something. The internet has grown faster than we can monitor it's use. It's sorta like the first pioneer town. No laws, no enforcement of rules, and kids could do anything they wanted.

It really depends on the question, there are times that I see questions which really need to be answered as these teens seem to be confused and not have their facts straight, nor have the confidence to relate same to their parents... Therefore, they come to this site expecting some answers . . . So, maybe we are actually helping them because like that they can share their thoughts and, maybe, just maybe, we are saving them from doing a mistake...

We each have enough to do taking care of ourselves. We don't need to become the "yahoo" cops.

If you have a doubt about the child (and how do you know it really is a child) then send him/her an e-mail.

Many teens are not comfortable asking their parents the questions I see asked on this site. And many parents are not comfortable talking to their teens about sex and its many mysteries.

Would you deny that one child the right to find an answer to a question that might be scaring the bejabbers out of him/her? What he/she is worrying about may be normal. Someone answering could relieve that concern.

Yes I'm getting sick of the questions that are OBVIOUSLY just jokes....not cool kids. And I agree with Mimi, Why don't parent monitor kid's online activities? I know mine sure did.

what harm is it in them asking? Maybe they have no one else to go to? If they dont get the answers here, they will still try to find them somewhere. We aren't hurting them by answering, and they arent hurting anyone by asking. This place is safe and they can be annonymous.

No, not really b/c the only person we should be reporting to is their parents. I do report some people if they are inappropriate to others.
