YES. There are plenty of females on the "green side" They are not sent to the "front lines", but are stationed in all the Marine Corps bases, and work with us out in Iraq as well. I hope you aren't afraid to be stationed with us though. You get to laugh at us and all our strict regulations, and follow Navy Policy instead. We'll tease you, and you'll make fun of us. Everyone knows that you are in a different branch of service and won't hold you to standards you didn't agree to.

Don't know if it's the same in the Navy/Marines as it is in the Army - if you are a medic you are a medic!! In other words being female hasn't determined much in the way of what missions you are or aren't allowed to go on. All the Marine units I have come accross all have at least one Navy medic in their group, even for patrols or convoys. I doubt though that they would choose a female for that sort of mission to begin with because I've never seen it in the Navy/Marines - though I've seen it in the Army plenty of times. Back at the states, you have a very high chance of getting attached to a Marine unit, almost 50/50.

I doubt that you will be put up on the front, but you might be attached to a marines unit at some time, seeing as how the marines do not have their own medical unit, they rely on the navy for that.

Ocourse you are going into reserve, so it is probably not very likely.
