How do you expect people who need help with their faith to believe one word of what you are saying about God and Jesus, when you come up with answers like it's only been 6000 years since God created the Earth.
You have had 2000 years to get your act together and you are still interpreting differently. So tell me. Who is right? Did God (Jesus) make the Earth 6000 years ago or more? Never mind about all the profets. What about the souls who were on this planet 100,000 years ago then?http://thebaldchemist.blogspot.com

Could God have created the world in a mature state? Sure, why not? Do I personally think that he did? no. Is this an issue that should divide Christians? no. The fact of the matter is, there is nothing to "get right" concerning the age of the earth. The Bible simply does not tell us how old the earth is. Bishop Usher's calculations (on the number of years from creation to Christ) are not a part of the inspired text of the Bible. They were merely his opinion based upon the scant information that has been given.

The problem you are alluding to is really an issue of literalistic grammatical interpretation of the Genesis account. There are those who want to interpret the 6 days of creation as: 6 literal 24-hour days. There is much in the text that would suggest we not take this view, but people do it nonetheless. While the basic content of Genesis follows what we now observe scientifically:

1) The creation of the universe & laws of physics
2) The forming of the atmosphere
3) The emergence of Land & Plants
4) The fixing/stablizing of the earth's orbit into days/years
5) The creation of sea creatures and birds
6) the creation of animals & man

There is no basis for using the Genesis account as a chronological or scientific "textbook". That was never the intent. Rather, Genesis conveys a literal truth (that God is the creator of all) expressed in a simple language that is comprehendable by all.

Whether the 6 days of creation are seen as literal 24 hour time periods, or as an age/era (possibly constituting billions of years), the fact remains that God is the Creator of all.

For the record, evolutionists and creationists will never agree because they are seeking answers to two separate questions. Evolution describes how we got here, Creation explains why we are here.

The most important part of the Christian creation story is not the number of days, nor the amount of time that has elapsed, nor the order of creation, but rather that God created man in His image and breathed Life into Him. That's what we most need to know.

Anyone who argues that an earth more ancient than Scripture offends Scripture does so out of an excessive thirst for fundamentalism, the need to remake the world in the image we hold. Jesus Himself predated the Bible.

Still, it doesn't change the nature of the salvific message. The truth of Christ's death and resurrection, and of the sanctifying grace established therein, remains the same whether the world is 6,000 years old or 6,000,000,000 years old.

Ha ha - life and death are the only two facts of life and rest all is a fiction. Its human mind that tries logic and reasoning but all higher things are not explained by logics and science- try Love for instance.
All Jesus or Mohamed stuff is manmade - we need something to cling on because we think ourselves as very weak an unintelligent. the day we start recognising that we all are Gods, we will stop looking for him

6,000 years is not necessarily correct (and yes I am a Christian). First, we don't know how long a 'Day' is in Genesis. In Peter it says 1,000 of our years is a day to God. Also, we have no idea how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, it could have been aeons, after all they were immortal.
But most convincing of all- the earth has been dated, and is way older than 6,000 years. Some of us are just waaay too stubborn.

you expect theists to agree on something while at the same time scientists are allowed to argue and contradict each other

there are scientists that argue that global warming is not real, the big bang never happened, and that light is not the limit for matter to travel as well as a plethora of other subjects.

if your going to be fair use the same ruler to judge both.

Jesus created the world about 6000, and there can't be souls on this planet before then if it wasn't created.

You are asking far too much of the religious fantatics here...please do not confuse them with any kind of logic, it is unfair and confusing.

The length of time is not the message. The message is that Jesus always was, is and will be. If you have ears then hear. ;-)

Read your Bible and get your own answers. If you just believe whatever people tell you then that makes you stupid. Do your own research.
