Both the Bible and the Qur’an prohibit the eating of pork. Muslims are aware of this prohibition and observe it strictly. However, most readers of the Bible say they do not know where they can find this in the Bible.
In the book of Leviticus, chapter 11, v. 7, it is recorded that God declares the pig to be unclean for believers. Then, in verse 8, God says: “You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.” This command is repeated in Deuteronomy 14:7-8. Then, in Isaiah 65:2-4, and 66:17, God issues a stern warning against those who eat pork.
Some people are aware of this prohibition from God, but they say that they can eat pork because St. Paul said that all food is clean in his letter to the Romans 14:20. St. Paul said this because he believed (as he wrote in his letter to the Ephesians 2:14-15) that Jesus had abolished the Law with all its commandments and regulations. He seems, however, to have misunderstood what he heard about Jesus. In the Gospel According to Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus is reported to have said quite the contrary, as follows: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law . . . ."
Jesus then went on in that passage (in verse 19) to denounce anyone who would break the smallest commandment and teach others likewise. He also praised his true followers who will practice and teach even the smallest commandment. One of the commandments, as we have seen, is to stay away from pork.
This is why the true followers of Jesus, holding on to his teachings, did not let unclean food such as pork enter their mouths, so that Peter, the chief disciple, can say, “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean” (Acts of the Apostles, ch. 10, v. 14)
Five chapters later in the Acts of the Apostles, 15:29, we find that the original disciples still differentiate between clean and unclean foods, and this time Paul is in agreement with them. Six chapters later, in ch. 21, v. 25, their decision to impose food regulations on believers is mentioned without regret, and this time Paul is challenged to prove that he is in agreement with them; and he demonstrated his full agreement with them.
What remains, then, is that Jesus, on whom be peace, upheld the prohibition against pork. His disciples also upheld it, and so must all his followers. Those who fail to uphold it need to be informed and reminded of this rule from God. This is one reason why God sent His final messenger, on whom be peace. God says:
“O people of the Scripture ! Now has Our Messenger come unto you, expounding unto you much of that which you used to hide in the Scripture, and forgiving much. Now has come unto you light from Allah and a plain Scripture.” (The Meaning of the Glorious Qur’an 5:15)

Christians believe that by believing in God and the teachings of Jesus, we will have eternal life. Whether we follow any laws or rules created by anyone does not keep us from heaven.
The laws set up in Deuteronomy and Leviticus are seen as old-fashioned guidelines. As I understand it, the statement that pigs are unclean because they do not chew the cud is another way to say that because of the things they eat, it can be dangerous to be near them or eat their meat. This is true for wild pigs; now we raise pigs and know what they eat so that we know that they are safe to eat.
The verses from Ephesians and Proverbs do not prohibit Christians from drinking wine - they say not to get drunk from it or drink enough to affect our judgement. Drinking wine is, for most Christians, acceptable - especially since Jesus drank wine and one of his miracles involves making wine. In some Christian denominations, wine is used in worship services as a part of Communion.

Actually most christians eat pork and not drink wine.

Some Christians don't eat the unclean meats like pork and etc., but drink wine sparingly (Eph.5:18); like me.
I seldom drink wine; I only do it on Passover.
Yes if you drink wine heavely; it is a sin like Prov.20:1 says.
But look what these texts say about the wine too:
Luke 7:33-34 "For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, "He hath a devil. The Son of man is coming eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!"
Titus 2:3,6,12 "The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given too much wine, teachers of good things. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. Teaching us that, denying ungodlinessw and wordly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in the present world:"
1Tim.3:8 "Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given too much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;"
1Cor.11:20-22 "When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. What? have ye not houses to eat and drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not."
1Tim.5:23 "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities."
Here's the texts about the clean and unclean meats--
** TEXTS THAT INVOLVE THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS:
GEN.18:7-8; LEV.11; 20:25; DEUT.14; ISAIAH 66:17; EZEK.22:26; DAN.1:8; MATT.3:4; LUKE 24:41-43; ACTS 10:10-14; 1COR.3:16-17; 9:27; 2COR.6:17; AND REV.21:8.
----TO ME; IF THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS WEREN'T VALID FOR TODAY; THEN WHY OH WHY WOULD THE LORD PLEAD WITH FLESH NOT TO EAT UNCLEAN MEAT--(ISAIAH 66:15-17). ALSO NOTICE DEUT.14:4 "SHALT NOT EAT ANY ABOMINABLE THING" AND REV.21:8 "...THE ABOMINABLE SHALL HAVE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH."

You have done good in pointing to the scriptures. The animals listed in Leviticus as unclean were never intended for us to eat them. As far as the wine, I believe that the wine of the Bible was "juice". "Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and [one] saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing [is] in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all." (Isa 65:8) How can fermented "wine" be in the grape?
Christians claim that the old testament is old fashoned and good advise, but forget that most of what Jesus said was a quotation from the old testament of the Bible. "All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" (2Ti 3:16)
Christians have tried to lower the standards of God rather than raising their own satndards. This does not work, because only God can change his rules; otherwise, Jesus would not have had to die for us.
There are others that say that in Peter's vision, that God changed it so that all animals were clean. This is not true. Peter, himself, gave the meaning of the vision: "And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean." (Act 10:28) The meaning of the vision was about men, not animals.
Others will use the phrase "all things in moderation". Well how about a little poison in moderation. Pretty stupid huh? Before man started changing the Bible it read: "And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they [do it] to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible." (1Co 9:25) The proper word is temperance it means abstinance from harmful things and moderation of that which is beneficial.
I try to be a christian (like Christ), but I fail from time to time. I am also one of few who christains who do not drink wine or eat unclean animals (I eat a vegan diet) because God said, "Don't do it."
Thank you for pointing out our errors.

Most of the verses that u provided are from old testament, because after Jesus came, He changed this part of the law...i think this should be the reason why Christian can now eat pork...So no matter what question in your mind, you may always need to refer to new testament as well...Because if you only follow old testament, that mean you may not a Christian afterall, as many other religion are based on old testament only.

As a christian, I do eat pork. But I do know of other christians who dont. However I do not drink wine or any other alcoholic beverage because I do not want to defile God's temple as the scripture teaches.

Christ drank wine. So that has since been abolished. Pork was allowed after Christ because the Gentiles could eat pork, but were then allowed into Christianity. So both were abolished with the coming of Christ.

Christians haven't any dietary restrictions that I know of (born/raised in Christian family). We drink wine and have ham for Christmas and Easter, our two major holidays. I don't know why this is though. Call a church and ask a preacher/priest.

In Peter's dream the Lord explained to him that it was ok to eat pork and other things that were previously forbidden. It is ok to drink wine but not to excess, so you get drunk.
