Nothing. Some gays refuse to accept that they are gay and date and marry, only to realize they can't fake being straight their whole life after a while. This is not usually deliberate deception of the spouse, but self-deception.
Gays risk family rejection, job loss, and other condemnations, and it is hard for a young person to accept.

The best thing to do is just ask them. I have a guy friend that I wasn't sure about. So I asked him, and he did get slightly offended, but at least I knew. I knew as much as he was willing to share with me.

Ask him or if not,if you already know a gay guy ask him how he knew that he was gay.Oh and maybe just watch him 1st for signs like his voice changing to a softer tone and somtimes,you can watch his walk.
