My personal opinion is that it is okay for you to attend your friend's church. I was raised Catholic and I think you are asking what is the Catholic Church's stance on attending other churches. I will try to find a link to this to help you.

OKAY - HERE IS A LINK ON THIS TOPIC WITH THE CHURCH'S ANSWER. It is from the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. He says the answer is Yes, Catholics may attend Protestant Services. And gives some guidelines you should read.

http://www.dwc.org/questions/services.shtml

He says the "The bottom line, one can attend other Christian services and there certainly are times when this is appropriate. However, the regular celebration of one's faith in a Catholic Church ought not to be interrupted, especially on Sundays and Holy Days. And Catholics should not partake in communion in other Churches, because we do not share a common faith in the Eucharist as the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.".

NOTE: I have attended funerials held in protestant churches where Catholic Priest and Nuns were in attendance because they were paying their respects. I have also been to inter-faith services that were led by Priests and Ministers of various faiths.

See above link for "official" stance on this question. I always believe it is better to post a link, than to just give a personal opinion.

Churches are just a building. The people are the "church". I am non denominational and accept the fact that everyone will view things differently. What is the best way to defeat any group of people? have them fight among themselves of course. You can not dwell on minor little interpretations of the Bible. Look at it like this, all foundations are basically the same but there are many different style houses used for the same purpose. If the Catholic church would judge you for it then that is their first sin.

catholic and lutheran churches are very similar. Go where you feel God wants you to be. Have you ever tried a Pentecostal church. Now that is church. You will never be the same again.

Not at all. Remember that if you claim belief in the Catholic way of Christ, you are obligated to receive Eucharist once a week and keep holy the Sabbath. Going to another church in addition to Mass is not frowned upon, but rather is applauded if it is done in a spirit of fellowship, especially of ecumenical fellowship.

The divisions and infighting have kept us separated for 500 years from our non-Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ. Bring your friend to Mass, attend his or her services too, and grow in the love of Christ.

It is fine, I have gone to many churches with friends of other denominations.

Remember, though, you are still obligated to attend Holy Mass, and you are not allowed to take communion at another denomination (there are some exceptions, but as a general rule, it is against the Canon Law to do so).

The Catholic church does not prohibit your attending other's churches or services, but they ask that you do not participate...the last I heard, at any rate.

It's not bad, it's good to educate yourself on other Christian beliefs. But you should try and make it to a Catholic Mass every Sunday to recieve communion.

Go for it, you may learn something. I would suggest non Denominational churches too.
