Considering there are so many other sites, they choose to come to this one to put down God. I think it's great....because at least they are hearing the word of god, WHETHER THEY WANT TO BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!So, to you atheists and agnostics, keep on answering these questions...maybe one day you will soften your heart and believe.....considering all the sites, why are you here???i think's it's great!!!!:):):):)

Why, thank you for that warm welcome! I have been here for a few months, and switched from agnosticism to atheism, thanks to YA's Religious/Spirituality. :-)
So, I agree with you, R/S does help in some regards. It helps us in different ways. I am happy you found your "god". I found my Path. :-) Let's revel in this joy we have together---albeit a different kind of joy! :-)

I have to just give you a warning first: If you answer people in your extra bits after your question, some people see that as 'chatting' and could report it, sorry but some people really are that mean.
OK, as for your question, I don't want to be mean to you, because I know you are a lovely person, but don't you think everyone else has a right to their opinions too? I mean I used to be a religious person, but for reasons I'm not going to discuss on here I'm not any more, does that make me a bad person? I know it's annoying when some atheists or agnostics answer a question they know nothing about, but it's also annoying when religious people just answer with 'god will put it right'. I'm sorry, but I can see it from both sides of the fence.I think there is no need for anyone to be rude or nasty to you about this though, so rude and nasty people, go away!

I come a lot to this site, because I hope I can open some people's minds, so we eventually get rid of religions. Religions are the worst institutions humanity has had to deal with.
And some people like to think that we are eventually going to convert. Well, I wouldn't count on that. I've been discussing religions for twenty years, and the more I know about them, the more convinced I am not to be religious. I don't want to be a member of an institution that tortures and eventually kills whoever doesn't agree (Inquisition, Crusades, etc.) or that has been an accomplice to the bloodiest dictatorships Latin America has known. I don't want to see blood in my own hands.

See, here's what I don't get. I'm pretty sure there's nothing that says the Christian god intended Yahoo Answers to be only for the Christians. What makes it okay for you to spout your blind faith all over the place and proclaim other faiths wrong, and then complain about agnostics, atheists and whoever else posts their views?
For the record, I'm not an atheist OR agnostic. I don't think anyone's religious views should be "put down" (although the zealots REALLY make it hard sometimes)....but don't preach tolerance for your religion when you have none for others' religions. Judgemental, self-righteous, holier-than-thou attitudes like this are what cause other people to put down your faith.

Your religion is a Faith, i.e., belief without proof. It is indeed hard to imagine that the world in all its glory and complexity "just happened." But still, the world, such as it is, teaches us to seek proof through scientific inquiry.
If religion is so important, if your soul's survival depends on having the right kind of religion, why is there no proof? Why did G-d create this Universe that we explore by methods of scientific inquiry, but does not give us proof of the most important facts? Is it fair for those born to parents with the "right" religion to have greater chance at salvation (because they are more likely to have the "right" religion themselves) than for the rest of us?
Having said all that, two thumbs down for atheists. Absence of proof is not proof of absence. Atheism is just a faith -- belief without proof.

Thanks, it's nice to be loved.
I was a practicing Christian for over thirty years and am an atheist as a result of studying the bible and religion and concluding that the bible is a book of myths.
It is a fact that supernatural entities ("Gods") do not exist in fact.
Reading opinions about a book of mythology will hardly change my viewpoint, and based on what I've read, is highly unlikely to persuade anyone to follow those who offer their juvenile opinions.
Most atheists know more about religion and the bible than "believers," and is why they became atheists.
It is unlikely you or anyone else is going to persuade them (me) by repeating what we have heard or read dozens of times before.
Good luck in your effort.
I am here for the same reason as everyone else, to ask and answer questions related to religion, a subject with which I have a great deal of familiarity.

God bless you ,love and peace! this question proves what true Christianity is all about and that's love for your fellow man. I appreciate your love and you are truly a peacemaker. You have spoken the evident by saying that they will come to know Christ just by answering and questioning. You are truly a christian. Pray for me that I won't get offended sometimes. Have a great day!

Considering I've had the good fortune to get to know a few of them due to their participation here, yes, I love that they come here. They are 100X more respectful than some of the religious people here.
You do realize that this is Religion and Spirituality and not Pep Rally for God right? It's not just your religion they don't believe in, don't flatter yourself.

It is interesting..
Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
They really express their hatred for God and sadly don't realise that this will eventually bring them to extreme heights that they wouldn't even have dreamed of.
Joh 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

Not as much as the ignorant Christan's who spout on and on about their God and yet no nothing about their religion.
Oh, yeah by the way- doesn't God teach Christians to be humble in their faith?? Or is that some Christians can't understand the bible.

i wrote something like this and then deleted my question because i included perverts in mine, because someone writes terrible jokes on this spiritual/religious site, and you won't believe all the email i received. i wonder to and so do alot of other people....i wasn't saying all atheists are perverts, or whatever, but i guess they consider themselves spiritual so they come here too...but us Christians look at it like they believe in nothing so why come here. you know. but anyway.....as far as i can see they are giving atheists, etc. a bad name by coming on here putting our religion down...i mean really!
