"The Fighting Temeraire tugged to her last Berth to be broken up" by JMW Turner in 1798

It was a very symbolic painting of the rise of the British empire. It was voted the best painting in the UK in 2005. It now hangs in the National Gallery in London.

Chicago Art Musuem: Picasso's Old Guitarist. Looking carefully, you can see a that there was a painting created under this painting. Redos are interesting, especially with someone as well known as Picasso.
