I just got the Panasonic Lumix TZ1, and I love it. It runs around $300. 5 Megapixels, 10x Optical Zoom, 4x Digital Zoom, big LCD screen, lots of functions. Worth checking out!

one of the best digital cameras is the exilim by casio. they are very small / thin (fit in your pocket) and can take pics up to 6 meg. tho the 5meg camera is probalby the best
