Cats and dogs don't have the same digestive system as we do. By feeding chocolate to any of them can be fatal. Another alternative you may want to try is carob. It isn't as harmful and most vets and pet stores will agree. It may be a little pricey though but if you insist on giving your cat chocolate, this is the way to go. Look up a catalog called Drs. Foster & Smith. They have many other interesting ideas to keep your cat happy and healthy.
Good luck to you and may your cat provide you with much enjoyment and friendship!

Chocolate is in fact poisonous to cats. The reaction varies from animal to animal, but there is a lethal ingredient called theobromine. Baking chocolate contains 10 times the dosage as regular milk chocolate.
Theobromine will do several things to your cats body, depending on how much she eats, including seizure, convulsions, increased heart rate, and even death.
Please don't ever feed your cat chocolate.

If all of you against chocolate so let us (cats) to play with candies. And my friends - cats eating jam and chocolate on holidays. Oldest of them 16 years old. And teobromin is poison. That is right. And noir_du_sang told right. But some cats anyway will eat chocolate and not die...I don't know why...

Neither are risky on your cat. The cat in all hazard likes the cream residue from the cookie. the main elementary poisonous component to your cat on your place is tylenol. One pill will kill the conventional residing house cat yet in view that maximum cat are choosy in what they consume they seem to be a lot greater possibly to play with a unfastened pill than consume it. Chocolate in Oreo cookies is in comparison to feeding actual chocolate and chocolate won't kill a cat like it would a canines. Licking a bowl is in comparison to eating tomatoes. Tomatoes could desire to reason allergies yet are actually not risky for you cat.

I think it can kill cats. My cat used to love chocolate so I limited him to a teeny weeny piece about the size of half a thumbnail every other week as a treat. Check with your vet.
