This question has been answered numerous times. There were many reasons why the coalition of over 30 nations invaded Iraq.
There were WMD, so you are either a fool or a liar.
As for the trial, this is just one of the many instances of Saddam's brutality. We have found 10's of 1000's of bodies in mass graves already.

We invaded Iraq for one simple reason. There was proof that he had WMD's and that he funded Islamic terrorism. It's that simple. He funded 9/11 along with Iran, and because Islamic terrorism declared war against the United States, so did Saddam Hussein.

Bush should not be able to get away with it. He should be packed up along with his goons, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and anybody else and shipped off to the Hague to answer for their crimes against humanity.
