I go fishing frequently and ticks can occasionally be an issue. It's probably going to be OK. If she was a little older you could use a tiny pair of pointy tweezers to remove the head, but at her age I suppose she wouldn't like that too much. The head is very small (think grain of sand or smaller) and should either work itself out through natural sloughing off of skin cells over time, or more likely will be dissolved by antibodies. Inspect the site periodically for redness/tenderness, signs of an infection, but I doubt you'll have a problem. If there have been cases of Lyme disease in your area, take her in just to be safe. Hope this helped.

We have a farm with a lot of tall grass, my kids get ticks on them all the time. If you put fingernail polish on the tick or vinegar sometimes it will back out. If you pull the tick off and its legs are still moving then you have the head. Without the head the tick does not move its legs. I recently pulled a tick off of my daughter and the head was still in my daughters back I called the Dr's and they said to scrub the skin until it bleeds then put rubbing alcohol on it and most likely the head will come out. So we did that the skin started to bleed and the head came out. We also double-checked with a magnifying glass. They told me if you can't get the head we need to see her. Hope this helps.

it's probably best to see a doctor now, especially since ticks carry lime disease, so she may need to get tested. If you ever find ticks again here's a good tip. Light a match and blow it out. Place the warm match head against it's body. The tick will unborrow it's head and try to move away from the heat, then you can get it off. Probably not a good idea to place a warm match on a baby though. While you're at the doc. ask him how to remove them safely.

Next time you should put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and put it on the tick until it backs out of the skin. It might still work with just the head, but I am not for sure. You could at least try.

You are suppose to light a match and blow out the match then quickly put in on the tick's body. This forces the tick to take it's head out of the body it's sucking blood from.

Yeah, that can become infected easily. Depending on your location, ticks carry lyme disease, so it never hurts to be aware and see the doctor.

You have to burn the spot where the head is stuck. It will cause lime disease if it is still in there. I work for a vet with dogs and cats.

If the head is still in her skin, then yes. It can become infected if the head is not removed.
