A friend of mine sent me a tshirt that says "Flying Monkey Airlines: Non-stop flights over the rainbow".
I'm not sure what that means.
Please don't be mean, I am not stupid. English is not my native language, there are some idioms or cultural references that escape me.

Well, it could refer to the flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz. But I think people use it because it's such an improbable scenario that it serves as a good metaphor/reference point for something that is unlikely to happen. It's just a variation on the phrase, "yeah, when pigs fly!", meaning it ain't gonna happen any time soon. So when someone says, "Yeah that'll happen... when monkeys fly outta my butt!", you can be pretty sure they are skeptical of something.

Flying Monkeys were controlled by the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, and they represent anything fearsome, terrifying and evil.

Flying monkey refers to the creatures in 'The Wizard of Oz' movie. They were the henchmen / operatives of the Wicked Witch of the West.
In modern political usage, it means activist operatives or agents of a political party.

I know I used it with my girlfriends to have them check to see if I had had any leaks during Aunt Flo's monthly visit. I'd ask them, "Are my monkeys flying?" They'd lag behind, check it out, and give me a yes or a no. That's how I used it. But that might not be the correct usage.

me and my cousin refer to each other as flying monkeys like "go away flying monkey" adn stuff liek that you can use it to refer people as a flying monkey or jsutas an expression "oh my flying monkey " i find it extremely funny
