My dog which is mixed race (foxhound and chow chow) craves boiled eggs. She could easily eat 6 or more at any time and she seems so happy while eating them. But I wonder if that much eggs could be harmful to her. Thank you in advance for your reply!

The eggs will not hurt your dog. As she gets older, you will notice her flatuation more. Raw eggs are good for her fur.

I don't think eggs are harmful for dogs. Dogs in the wild (wolves, coyotes etc) usually eat eggs quite regularly. I have a Boxer and she likes raw eggs in her food as well as boiled eggs. I read that dogs actually like the taste of eggs and that they provide good nutrition. It also makes their coat shiny. Hope this helps :)

I was told (by my vet) that giving eggs to my doberman can help with her skin. If you dog is overweight you might want to be careful of the amount of cholesterol that she is receiving from the eggs.

She may be happy, and while it won't have any posionous effects now, take care because she could get ill from them, she could become picky and not eat her dog food, they will give her gas and stomach upset, and changes in a pet's diet often can lead to pancreatitis.

Egg yolk is realitively high in fat and cholesterol; it can't be healthy to be feeding so much yolk unless the canine gets enough exercise or is fed sparingly.

Cooked eggs are fine but as with everything, should be eaten in moderation.

yes! any table food of any type can cause pancreatitis. my friend would not listen and gave her dog thin tukey slices. her dog got pancreatitis and almost died. the doctor's told me you never want to see your pet get pancreatitis. it cost her $1,500.00 TO SAVE HER LAB! you should only give your pet medicine wrapped in american cheese when necessary.
