If it follows that 'good fences make good neighbors', will having a good fence with Mexico make them a bettern neighbor?

Absolutely! The Unites States of America has the right and sacred obligation to control her own borders.

Recognizing that right and seeking to enforce it does not make us racists. Our Federal government has turned a blind eye to the drastic, daily influx of hundreds of illegals flooding across our southern borders, terrorists included. Our northern borders need fortification as well! Hats off to the non-racist Minute Men/Women for drawing the attention of all Americans to this high priority issue that we've tried for years to get our elected officials to pay attention to!

America has been built upon the value that the "tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to breathe free" have brought to our shores. Many of those immigrants were processed through Ellis Island and entered LEGALLY into our country. No doubt about it, we value LEGAL immigrants from all around the world and want LEGAL immigration to continue.

Unfortunately, the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free" (sentiment inscribed on the base of the Statue of Liberty) have turned into huddled millions yearning to take advantage of the free!

No. The slogan applies to private property owners. Borders between countries are between jurisdictions; would you want a wall put up between East and West Germany again, so those East Germans can't enter? The private property owners near the border should have their fence repair costs tax deductible.
The government should eliminate the prohibition on immigration, eliminate the quotas and allow legal entry. A giant border fence is medieval, socialist, and does not fit a freedom loving country and would not be seen to be necessary if immigration law followed Jeffersonian principles.

NO, I dont support the tiny Minute Men fences, and I dont support a large brick wall built by the government either, reason? They wont stop anything. Unless we have people watching the entire fence 24/7 (which we cannot afford). It is a waste of time and my tax money if they do try! We just need our government to amend their visa standards, allow MORE people in legally, then they wont have to sneek in!

Yes I support the fence. The Mexican Government is not doing it's job to prevent illegal crossing on the border. I don't blame the individuals who want to come here to improve their lives but there are rules that must be followed.

NO. I think we should have an open border with Mexico after all, good neighbors don't need fences.

I support the fence. Our neighbor to the south stopped being a decent neighbor a long time ago. So now it's time to put up a fence and let them start knocking on the gate if they want in.

An oil slicked fence with moats on both sides and a drawbridge at all crossing points. Don't forget the concrete barriers that go down 100 feet under the surface to keep them from tunneling. Of course then they'd dig down 115 feet, but there's nothing much we can do about that. Deport them when we find them.

We need a double or triple 'smart' fence as well as sensors, cameras, increased patrols and drone aircraft patrols, as they already have in some places.

At the end of the day when the public is no longer scrutinizing this, patrols and funding will be reduced in favor of other pet projects. At that point only the fences will remain. I think they are crucial.

To me it dosen't make sence cause since the U.S. is building the fence patches at a time, the illegal immigrants are still slipping through the unbuilt spots. Tey should have done this years ago when it wasn't such a big problem.

We need a wall with military personall controlling security on the wall, and militarize the border. we need to show the illegals that breaking our laws is unacceptable and will have consequences. And if mexico does not like it, too bad, we will do it anyways
