Their mom must not have taught them well, so what you do is put their litter box in the corner where they are going, when you clean up the poop, put it in the litterbox and leave it so they smell themselves in the box. You have to do the human version of teaching them and since we can't stand there to watch 24/7 go step by step. If they ignore the box with the poop, then move the box over a bit, wash the floor or rug with a lemon smelling product, cats hate lemon, it will repel them from there so they will look for another area and "run into the box" that smells like them. Slowly move the box a little each day to the spot you want it.

I have a kitten now, that used to do that a few weeks ago. What you need to do, is take some Lysol and clean out that area so they can't detect the smell of their poop. Then place a plastic table cloth down in that corner and put their litter box on top of it. Each time you see them squat elsewhere, place them quickly in their litter box. Take their two front paws and gently show them how to dig in the litter box. After they are thru, they should out of instinct bury their poop and pee. When you clean their litter box, don't take out all their poop. Leave a little bit of it in the litter box, half covered up with litter. This way, they will smell it and know this is where they need to go from now on.
Have patience with your kittens, they will learn eventually where they are supposed to go.
Good luck and may you and your kittens become good friends for years to come!

put the cat box in they corner they are pooping in. after a few weeks move the box to where you were going to put it in the first place. The cats should follow. It's their natural instinct to scratch and dig.
