Definitions of gate:
-a movable barrier in a fence or wall
-A gate is a point of entry to a space enclosed by walls, or an opening in a fence. Gates may prevent entry, or they may be merely decorative.
-a device that opens or closes a pathway by stopping signals that fall below a user-defined level. Audio gates often are used to salvage noisy tape tracks and silence "dirty" sound systems: The gate stays closed—blocking residual, low-level noise—until the audio signal's level exceeds a user-determined threshold. Then, the gate opens, allowing the sound to be heard. Gates can also be used to create effects such as gated reverb.
Definitions of door:
- swinging or sliding barrier that will close the entrance to a room or building or vehicle;
- A door is a structure in a wall that allows easy conversion between an opening and a closed wall. It is found in many houses and other buildings, as well as in vehicles, cupboards, cages, etc.See door furniture for a discussion of attachments to doors such as doorhandles and doorknobs.

Poetically speaking, gates are more inviting and commitment is not necessary. One is able to observe looking over or through a gate without feeling trapped. Doors require commitment. When you open a door you must either go through it or shut it and turn around. Doors are usually opaque--you cannot see in or out. The atmosphere changes drastically when one enters through a door for good or bad. Entering though a door can offer shelter from storms or take you into a storm. The weather is often the same on either side of a gate.

A gate is outside and is generally a hinged opening in a fence, made of the same materials as the fence.

A door is usually a hinged opening in a house, office, work building, etc. and can be made of wood, glass, steel. Most doors cannot be seen through (except for the glass doors).

This is where we get the word "indoors". We are inside a building. On the other hand there is outdoors, we are outside the building.

Is this sufficient explanation for you? HTH

great question madhavi:) yOU know though these words sound synonimous but still there lies a "deep" difference !! Happiness can be found of things which may not even be beneficial to our spiritual or psychological aspect like we may go out & have our favourite dish & clothes etc., we would feel happy. But satisfaction comes from a kind of achievent, if we get good grades in studies we would get a positive feeling that says "hard word paid off" now thats more beneficial isn't it ;p[ Now peace.... I think it depends on what attitude we adopt towads the "activities" we do for "happiness" or either "satisfaction", peace actually exist in our self, it just has to be found by us. A person of ignorance might feel peace while a hard worker could be strresed. It can be even oposite to that . So peace needs to found by us.
