No, I don't smoke. It bled and bled and bled forever, then started hurting. First wisdom tooth I had out never caused problem.

They didn't numb me but rinsed the area to make sure there was no food in the hole and packed with a clove tasting product that stops the pain and keep air from circulating in the socket. A dry socket hurts like the dickens. This will really really make a difference. Do not suffer unneedlessly.

They will numb you up, then open up the site. Clean it out they may do some scraping to get the blood flowing if possible then they will put some special guaze coated with a paste that is especially made for dry socket(not clove oil). Be prepared to to this a few time it can take several weeks for full blown dry socket to heal.
