yes. it occurs after something went wrong during the early stages of pregnancy, usually the first trimester. it's definitely not common, but that does happen. they can also be born with their hearts on the outside of their body, their limbs may be in the wrong places, and they may have permanent brain damage.

Yes.

My boss' granddaughter was born that way. She had many surgeries to correct the problem. She's now 20 and is fine.

yes it is quite common now and after a bit of treatment(as surgery is usually needed these days) the baby is OK to go home

yes i have, in most cases they do survive.....watch TLC they show medical cases on there a lot.....
